This is the second module I have bought. I now have one on my truck and one on my wife’s car. I love the flashing patterns and how easy it is to install. I like having this module, simply to get the attention of the driver behind you. You can’t miss the flashing brake light in front of you.Tip: get yourself quality crimp connectors and a tool to crimp the connectors. I don’t know about you, but I want to do it right the first time and never have to go back and fix it later.

When I first wired this it didn't strobe, but the brake light turned on. When I reversed the leads it no longer lite up the light at all. I thought about it and decided to make sure I was connecting to the positive to positive by checking the wires coming to the brake light with a multi-meter, so that I was connecting correctly, which I was not.My black wire coming in, which I thought would be negative, was actually positive. The multi-meter when you check for voltage will tell you if it is pos or neg displaying a minus sign - when the probes are reversed pos to neg & neg to pos.So when I hooked the positive on strobe unit to the positive coming to the light & the positive coming out of the unit to the positive on the led it worked as designed and strobes & flashes. The reason I am giving a low rating is1) So maybe someone else may see this and realize they may have installed it wrong as I did to begin with. And2) because the manufacturer should know people will hook them up wrong and have a description on line or an installation manual telling why the strobe isn't working, and the symptoms like the light comes on but will not strobe and what is causing it and how to fix it.Because I'll bet many of the people saying that this flasher doesn't strobe are actually hooking it up wrong, and think they have it right. I know I did at first. It must be hooked up correctly on both sides of the unit or it will not strobe. The light must be correctly wired + & - and the brake light wires must be correct + & -. Also, the wire coming to the brake light goes to the "in" side of the unit & the brake light bulb connects to the "out" side of the flasher unit.Hope this helps, I only wish the manufacturer would explain this under their product to avoid all the confusion.Otherwise this thing works fine and should receive a 5 ***** rating, when wired properly.

Update six months later: Still going strong. I've had no problems with this module. I've poked around and find it hard to believe that anyone would pay $20, $30 or even over $50 for a similar module. There is absolutely no need to spend more.I credit this thing with helping me out today. Heading home this morning I had a guy following way too close and inching closer and I was coming up on my turn. I flipped my blinker on and started to break knowing that he would see the little strobing, flashing and steady on light show hoping it would bring him back to reality and it did. He slowed and backed off and I was able to safely make my turn.Original review: I was rear ended once while waiting at a traffic light by someone who had zoned out behind me. I saw them coming, but there was little I could do other than repeated press the brake pedal. That didn’t keep my head from smashing out the rear window in my little truck. I like to think that if I had this it might have done a better job of getting the drivers attention. I’ll never know, and hopefully, now that I’ve installed this, I’ll will still never know.Do you remember when all cars had only two tail lights? I do. Then one day adding a third brake light to your car became a novelty and some car makers started doing it. Why? Because having that third brake light made you more visible to the vehicle behind you. People expected two lights. Add a third and people took notice. It was a very effective safety feature. It soon became a requirement for all cars to have that third brake light. A few years later, and it was all for nothing. That third light had become blase and was no more effective than just having two. People had gotten used to three brake lights. Now what?Introduce this gizmo. It’s nothing new and there are a myriad of different designs and styles. Some with more functions and some with less, but they all do one thing. That is to make your car more visible to the traffic behind you. I just bought a new car and before it was even in my possession I ordered this guy. I was a little concerned about the install seeings how many people had different colored wires, some just plain installed it wrong and some said it didn’t work or quickly failed, but I gave it a shot. The install took about thirty minutes. Pull open the lining in the trunk to expose the wires, cut the wires, strip the wires, solder everything back together with the Podoy in the circuit, seal each solder up with shrink tubing, tuck the wires in, reattach the trunk lining and done. I was fortunate as the wires for my brake light were red and black just like the strobe. No way to make a mistake. In connects to the incoming power source and out connects to the light. Easy peasy.I press the brake pedal and I am rewarded with some strobing, flashing and ending with solid on. At seven bucks this was the cheapest upgrade I’ve ever done to a vehicle. I definitely feel it makes me safer on the road, but with an additional benefit. It looks cool too.

Not sure why there are mixed reviews on this flasher - it works flawlessly (and has for several months now). I was trying to identify which wire is which under the dash and realized this is small enough, I could just wire it up above the headliner and leave it there. I replaced my incandescent bulbs with LEDs at the same time to give it more of a strobe effect and it works perfectly. After using it for a few months, I've noticed people in traffic up on my bumper are surprised by it and notice quickly when I need to brake. This is great for getting attention of drivers behind you - exactly what it's intended to do. If I were a moto rider, I would definitely look at something like this. Quit driving like you own the road and just let people where they need to go - even if they make that last second bonehead maneuver.Obviously.....don't install these for every one of your brake lights. It's good to have the one in the middle flash a few times, but you want instant on and constant on for other lights. Make sure you have solid connections and protect them after making the connections. It's easy to strip the wires, add a little flux and solder, and then wrap them up (a bad ground connection will definitely cause issues / failure). The better the connections, the more likely this will last longer than your truck / bike / whatever you are using it for.
