Your cart is empty.Those spots! We all love those spots. Dalmatians are a fun species of isopod to have in your farm or vivarium. These charismatic critters are so fun to watch with their curious little attitudes. They are typically more shy than other species of isopods. Carry them in your pocket habitat, take them to school, take them to work, they will be as snug as a bug... in your pocket. These require delicate handling while outside their habitat. This species do not curl into a ball when scared, they play dead. Females will typically give birth to 1-2 clutches of 20-30 babies in last summer through the fall. Dalmatians can grow to about 1/2 inch long and live 3-5 years. They become sexually mature and start producing babies around 6-8 months old. Yours will be approximately 6-8 months old when shipped. Dalmatians prefer 60-70% humidity and temperatures between 50-75degrees F but can tolerate temperatures as low as 40 degrees. They will eat just about anything organic including most vegetables, grains, and fish food. Do not overfeed or the uneaten food will attract fruit flys. Just like all isopods/rolies, Dalmatians get along well with other species of isopods/rolies. While pictures typically represent the adult version of our pets, most items for sale are shipped as immature stages of the available species. Photos of outstanding adult specimens are typically used, not representing the actual specimen available for sale. Recommended for ages 8+. If your local temperatures are above 80 degrees, please monitor the tracking number daily so the Rolies don’t sit outside in the heat more than 3 hours and perish.

I got these roly polies to both be a cleaning team and companions for my snail, Joe, and they all arrived healthy and happy! Their home will be further prepared for them to be happy next to my snail, but they all were lively and happy to come out of their container!I love the little pocket pet idea and will probably end up taking some out to travel with me where Joe can’t! I am glad I chose this brand, All Rolly Polly’s arrived in perfect condition, not one dead.It also came with a little bowl so I can bring my new friends wherever I want!It also gives very clear instructions on how to make them not play dead, so I can tell that none are dead.And the fact this is made by a 14 year old blows my mind!

The isopods came in only 3 days and they all arrived happy and healthy! Not only that but they came with a free little pocket carry case and a free pregnant isopod. I really love this business and if I ever need more isopods I would buy them from here. It even came with a care guide. Overall I couldn’t be more pleased with this order.

I added these little babies to my crested geckos terrarium like two years ago and they’re still doing amazing, I have way more now! And I see little babies and adults out all the time. Super cute color and fast little critters right out the box.

I’ve ordered several types of isopods from different places in building my Bioactive habitat for my blue tongue skink and these were by far the best I’ve received. They were so active and much larger than what other companies have sent. And talk about cute!! I’m not a huge fan of bugs but these guys are just adorable! Before we put them in the 125 gallon tank my son played with them for a little while (I’m thinking of order more for him to keep as pets) and he said they were super friendly. The packaging was amazing and unexpected accessories made my day. I admit I didn’t read the full description when I ordered so I didn’t realize it would come with a tiny habitat to carry the Roly polies in and boy did I get a kick out of that. Makes me want to bring them to work with me. Also didn’t realize the company was started by a 14 boy sharing his passion and I LOVE that!! Amazing seller and the content of the package made me look at these bugs in a different way. I will be ordering from this seller for my Bioactive habitat again and again and maybe even order a batch to keep in a smaller terrarium as pets all on their own. We have 15 species in our mixed colony and we have ordered at least 8 or 9 of our various species from this supplier. We have been very pleased every single time. The price is fair and they have all arrived alive and healthy every time. (Seriously, I have not found a single dead isopod, which is more than any reasonable person would expect for multiple deliveries of live insects at various times of year and temperature. I don’t know what their secret is, but it works!) Isopods have been a wonderful low maintenance hobby for our mildly autistic sons (ages 3 and 6). A mixed colony offers so many opportunities to discuss and learn about responsibility, social interaction, kindness and caring for others. We also use it as a way to discuss differences in outer appearance even though the isopods are basically all the same on the inside. We talk about how even though they look different and have different personalities, they all get along in their cooperative community. (They really do have different personalities- some species are very assertive while others are very shy.) The background story and personal experience that the seller shared on the site was inspirational and ultimately that was what convinced me to try isopods as a hobby for my sons. As it turns out, I have just as much fun with it as they do!
