Very affordable and quality Tomoe river paper booklet! I bought this to use as an ink switch book and it’s the perfect size.I’ve included a comparison photo for the Lochby booklet, Sterling Ink Common Planner (52gsm Sanzen) and 2024 Hobonichi Weeks. The color of the Lochby and Sterling Ink are about the same. The paper in the Lochby booklet is slightly thicker than either of the planners, and swatches do not bleed through as they sometimes do on 52gsm. I love that this booklet can be thrown in my folio on top of my journal and it’s thin enough that the folio still zips. The booklet doesn’t lay completely flat when open, but that’s fine for my uses.Overall I highly recommend this booklet for the price!

Decent quality paper, but Notebook does not stay shut. Need to use a rubber band just to close it when not in use.

This is perhaps my most disappointing stationary but in the past few years. I've migrated to field notes for size but like most pen enthusiasts realized that their paper lacks in quality for wet inks, especially fountain pens, even with EF nibs.Somehow I found suggestions for these notebooks, that claim to use the Japanese version of paper that I've experienced in hibonichi notebooks, and those are a delight to write in... so I bit the bullet and bought one of these tiny notebooks for $7 expecting great things. The attached images are my disappointment... the paper is much thinner and of much poorer quality than claimed, there are no markings on the notebook itself so I'm assuming all the claims are false on here because they can't put anything permanent on the notebook. It bleeds very badly with anything 0.7 or larger, forget fountain pens. For fine nibs at 0.5 it skips unbearably, as you can see from the green ink sample image. This notebook is master of nothing and jack of nothing either, it's overpriced piece of crunchy imitation paper that's good for nothing but roller balls and very soft pencils, at which point why are you paying $7 for something that costs under $3 from other sources.Terrible buy.

A familar name that has always been associated with quality. These little journals take fountain pen ink well without bleeding or feathering. Of course more common ball pen inks write on the quality paper equally good. Great to carry for taking notes or making list. Free yourself from the burdemsome yoke of the cell phone. And when you actually write something down, you will retain it in memory better. Buy these things.
