Planet Eclipse Etha 3 Mech

Take your mechanical game to the N3XT L3V3L with the incredible Etha3 Mech.

The Etha3 Mech offers players a sleek, fresh approach to ergonomics with a host of notable performance upgrades. Its quick-release bolt assembly makes a huge difference to accessibility and maintenance which is typically found on much more expensive marker platforms. The aluminum low-rise feed neck reduces the overall profile of the marker. But it's the new aluminum trigger and mighty FL 3-way that makes a serious step forward in terms of firepower. The lighter, more responsive and faster trigger cycling potential is jaw-dropping.

The Etha3 Mech truly takes the Etha platform, and those who use it, to the N3XT L3V3L.

Marker shot the first day I got it for some practice shots. Went to use for my first outing and it won’t shoot. Had to send back unfortunately, sucks bc I liked the marker.

I shoot a shocker normally, just wanted a mech back up.Love the reliability of planet eclipseFlat straight shooterLightweightMaybe a half inch taller than other guns, all in the grip frame, not sure what that’s about, built for bigger hands? Needed room for the built in reg?One of the detent covers won’t sit flush regardless of how it’s screwed in, pretty minor. The bolt does wiggle. It doesn’t make a different in performance, but would be nice if the quick release bolt was just in or out, not wiggling.Just nit picking tho, really no complaints.

MAP for the Etha3M is 399. Not sure why it’s listed here for over 500. Definitely a 5* marker, but don’t buy it here.

I've been waffling for awhile on whether or not if I wanted to buy an Emek or splurge a bit more and get the M170r. A bunch of my friends that I play with all have some variation of the Emek or Mechanical version of the Etha and they all have nothing but praise to say about it. One of my friends, who has an Etha 2 PAL, told me about the Etha 3 and I was pretty much sold right away.Obviously I purchased online and it arrived this past Saturday(10-7-22) morning via signature confirmation. I played with it all day and shot about a case through it. Had no issues out of the box and performance was phenomenal. I had some issues with paint breaking in the breach but that is because of the paint being extremely brittle and not the fault of the marker. The Etha 3m is very light. The trigger is also very light as well as smooth which is probably due to the fl3 valve. Because of that valve and the lightness of the trigger one can achieve a high rof.The Etha 3m is cocker threaded and I have not had a chance to use the matching 2 piece barrel that came with the marker. It is a control bore 2-piece 14" barrel which is a huge plus over other stock barrel options with other markers. The Pops ASA makes it effortless to remove and screw in a tank. The velocity adjuster is located on the bottom of the ASA forward of the 2 ASA mounting screws. Out of the box the muzzle velocity was on point, 285 fps, and as consistent as the paint would allow. The clamping feedneck is one of the higher end Planet Eclipse options that comes standard with Higher End PE Markers.Of all the things that sold me on this marker was the tool less access to the internal gubbins. Pull up the back tab and pull the tab backwards and you have access to the valve for easy cleaning and maintenance.Ultimately what I wanted is a marker that I can throw in my gear bag, after cleaning and regreasing of course, then later pull it out and know it will work. Emeks have been out for a while now and have shown to be very reliable and I have no doubt this will have the same reliability albeit an easier time of cleaning and maintaining. As my headline says, Considering an Emek but haven't bought one yet? Buy this instead. The upgrades that you would ultimately perform on the Emek to be on par with the Etha 3m would cost more than just buying this marker. That being said, the only upgrade that I can see myself doing on this marker is a trigger upgrade. The trigger is great out of the box and only has a rear stop adjustment and I would opt for one that has 3 points of travel adjustment such as the Fang. Not a dig against the marker but I always seem to want to do something to my markers to meet my expectations and being that the trigger is the only thing that I see myself changing, though not right away, is a testament to the quality of marker Planet Eclipse has released here.
