This is great for helping me tune my cello. I keep my cello in my basement and got tired of lugging it upstairs to use my piano to tune my cello. Well made and easy to use.

It sounds great but the I wanted a black topped pipe for easier reading the notes like the picture showed, but BE WARNED it is NOT BLACK, Rather it is silver like all the other pitch pipes. I was going to return it for a black one and looked at the teeny picture s on left of screen's description and say that the pipe in the box was silver -- so "technically" their description was disclosed even though the large picture next to item clearly shows it is BLACK..Also, description says it comes in velvet bag, but not so. The plactic box does indeed NOT have a tab to open it but if you slide the red underliner cloth so that a piece of it peeks out where tab should be, box opens just fine.

Good pitch pipe for the price. Makes an accurate pitch and has decent volume. I baught it for a tour of Italy where I will be singing a lot of barbershop music which is sung acapella and needs a pitch blown before the song starts.Funny thing is the music notes on the staff are almost all wrong. Here you can see the B natural is written as a C natural on the staff.

The picture shows that it is black with raised lettering — this is not correct. Mine is all chrome plated. I'll be keeping it anyway as it is fairly easy to read. Other than that, it sounds a clear tone on all 13 positions. It's not 100% accurate. I would not use it to tune a guitar. For sounding the key when leading a choir of any size, this is as good as anything else nowadays and a lot easier than mucking about on your phone in an app. The nylon guide makes these even easier to use.

Well, it's a cheap one so I guess you get what you pay for. The rotating mouthpiece is kind of a cool touch which I like, but that won't make up for when you get down into the lower notes and the pitches are so messy that it's hard to actually find them. On mine, the D and D# literally sound the same.

I did not think they could screw up a pitch pipe, but China says “hold my beer”. It looks by all indications that it would be fine, but it is the WORST pitch pipe I have EVER used. A plastic Kazoo is made with greater quality than this. I will try to return if possible. If it at least reliably gave you the note you need, I would keep it and consider it good enough. This device can not reliably produce any particular note and the quality of the sound it produces is embarrassing l. Obviously made by some company that does not care about anything but making a quick, cheap dollar. If it was sold for $1, the price may still be too high! Sell it for a dime and I’d say you almost got your money’s worth! So disappointed!

I purchased this pitch pipe to be used by my daughter, who has a beautiful, untrained, voice. Last fall she had her first experience singing the National Anthem at a collegiate ladies soccer game and most recently at an annual Special Olympic Swim Meet. To prepare her for the first event she did have a few voice lessons to help her with this very difficult song and her instructor suggested using a downloaded pitch pipe app to aid in starting off on the right note. As apps are frequently upgraded, she would get confused with adapting to the new upgrades. As a person with special needs, I needed to find something that provided the clear notes and easy to use. In preparation for the recent event I purchased your pitch pipe as it is reasonably priced and looked user friendly. Your pitch pipe was perfect! It provides a very clear sound and my daughter was very comfortable with using it, thereby providing her with less distraction and more confidence. She did a great job, she had a lot of fun and pride singing the National Anthem, and she brought tears of joy to my (and many others) eyes. Thank you.
