I’ve been spooling reels for over 40 years and I’ve done it all. Including human yoga and using a fly tying station as a MacGyver contraption. Screwdriver, drill, pen, pencil you name it. It just becomes a cat chasing toy when the spool eventually goes out of control and dances along the floor. Get this. It’s worth every penny. Well built but light weight. Simpler than having on a rod. Nice grip, just like a real pole. No issues with any line capacity at all. Did 500 yards of braid and it was actually fun. Laid perfect first time. Can’t wait for spring!!!

I’m guessing some of the bad reviews are because people did not read the full instructions showing how to use the clamp adapters for the different sizes of line reels. Once you do that and get everything tight and lined up, this brilliant design makes me reel like a pro. My braided line and monofilament does seem to tangle /birdnest much less. Packaged in fitted foam, its almost fun doing the disassembly and placing the parts back into their housing. Price is fair.

Piscifun Fishing Line Winder:I received this and had to give it a try.I used it to spool 30 lb braided line onto two different reels. One of the reels was a Kastking 50 round baitcaster and the other was a Shimano LX4000.The Kasking Baitcaster was very straight forward. The spool was locked to remain level with the reel spool. The reel was upright and facing the spool which fed line from underneath.Pros:It laid down the line with very even tension and although the cranking wasn’t very smooth but it nicely got the job done.I will note that the line must feed off the spool from under the spool. Spooling with the line coming off the top had tangling and feed issues but feeding from the bottom worked well.Cons:The spool holder isn’t wide enough for a 600yard bulk spool but it can be made to work with enough tension on the line.The tension adjustment knob was sticky and difficult to adjust beyond a certain point. It was equally sticky and difficult to release the tension.The locking mechanism to keep the spool from rotating worked but wasn’t really solid.Now for the spinning reel.The line winder did the job nicely with the spool head released to rotate.The direction of the wind off is equally important and best set up with the spool locked, make a single turn of the crank, stop and release the line head so it can rotate.I spooled up the reel without incident.Pros:It is impossible to completely wind a spinning reel spool backwards with this line winder. This is possible with others like the Berkly Line Winder and after you do it once you are very careful not to do it again.You cannot make this mistake with this line winder.The line goes on with even tension and without any twisting.Cons:Much the same complaints as with spooling a baitcaster. Same difficulties adjusting the tension. Same issue with spool size.In the end the line spooler does the job it was intended to do. At $30 it is as good as the more expensive Berkly System, but it doesn’t rival the systems found in most tackle shops but at the price, they pay for a professional winding station you better get something really fantastic.It could use some attachment to empty a reel and make changing lines easier but again you’re paying $30.Overall, I am happy with its performance.

So... You just got your reel... You just got your braid... What do you do next? Scroll through Youtube tutorials on how to hold the spool with a pen or a screwdriver between your feet, your knees or they'll ask you to get into some other yoga pose. I'm just kidding. Hahaa. But seriously, this line spooler is the best accessory I have ever bought for my reels. I have respooled all of my fishing reels because I have this tool and it wraps line so perfectly. This line spooler will help you immensely, especially if you're new to fishing! What are you waiting for start spooling!
