Seiryu means Azure Dragon. In japan, the azure Dragon is one of the four guardian spirits of cities and is said to protect the city of Kyoto on the East. Made World famous in the aquarium world by the masters of Japanese Itagui and Amano style aquarium art, Seiryu is one of the most outstanding and loved rocks available for aquariums and terrariums.

Dirty. Small rocks. Disappointed. Not horrible, just not great either.

I needed to redo my planted aquarium in order to replace the substrate, so decided to purchase a box of these natural rocks to try them out. I had the usual fake log, coral structure and other stuff but was never satisfied with them. These natural rocks only needed a light rinsing, then into the tank they went. Really improved the look of the aquarium after I was done, plus since they are real rocks (and not hollow/fake stuff) they won't move around or float. Should have done this in the first place.

I absolutely love the look of these rocks. They came with a variety of sizes so you can display them how you want. HOWEVER do your research on this type of stone. It will raise your pH and hardness in your water which can be deadly to some fish or shrimp.

Overall, the rocks look very nice, most pieces have white mineral veins which adds to their beauty. As many other reviews may have mentioned, they are a little bit dusty. Just give them a good rinse and they will clean up quite well. Just keep in mind, these are great for nano tanks only. The rocks are on the smaller side, and while they will look stunning in smaller tanks, they will have significantly less of an impact in a large aquarium.

This is my 9 Gallon fish tank, all the seiryu rocks in the photo came from this product. The last time I ordered, a year ago, the rocks were in a nice bag, this time they were just in a plastic bag in 2 boxes. Didn't matter much to me because I love how this tank came out with the seiryu. For bigger fish tanks, I would order either multiple bags of this or a different product that has bigger rocks by default. But for smaller fish tanks, I would say around up to ~22 gallons, this is a nice bang for your buck. I highly recommend.

I didn’t get any huge pieces, but I am quite happy with such an assortment of small and medium sized pieces for the smaller aquascape I’m working on (10gal/45P). They will work great! Got several pieces with very beautiful patterns, textures and streaks on them. Exactly what I wanted!

Good amount of rocks for a 20gallon tank. The ones I received had some variation in size but didn't come with a large "centerpiece-like" rock (which was fine!)Didn't take too much washing or scrubbing and these rocks look even more fantastic when submerged.Seiryu rocks tend to raise pH and water hardness. I had them set up in my new tank and pH didn't change noticeably but water hardness went up approximately 1.5 gpg. Something to keep an eye on if your aquatic inhabitants are sensitive to the change.

Someone somewhere got a bright idea, let's sell gullible people some rocks but hey, these really are beautiful and look great in my aquarium. I received plenty for a second tank and would buy again. Good product.

I’m pretty happy with the rock I received. The largest piece is quite large and has fantastic, craggy texture that is well framed in my 36 g bowfront. For an Iwagumi layout, this would be the Oyaishi. The next smaller piece has much less texture but sets off the main stone well (Fukuishi). The largest of the remaining pieces was moderate sized and makes for a good Soeishi. The remaining were quite a bit smaller, making for an excess of stone to use as suteishi.Seiryu stone isn't available locally so I’m just happy I was able to get some I was able to use on Amazon, but was pleasantly surprised to see that the sizes of the stones included were well thought out and virtually an Iwagumi in a bag.UPDATE: I bought a second bag for my 10 gallon, and was super pleased with the variety of shapes, sizes and textures. I ended up with two big, smooth stones, but they ended up beneath the substrate to prop up the focal pieces (they accounted for 5lbs of the 19lbs I received!). In my first order, I received a huge piece that would have been way too big for the 10g, so I got lucky with the smaller pieces.
