At first it wouldn't work as the base was slipping on the counter. I put a wooden bread board underneath, and it worked perfectly. Did find it better to cut the cooked chicken breasts in half before I shredded.

My sister-in-law posted a video to the family to show her using hers for an upcoming party and it was sooo cool that I ordered one too and just used it, It was so quick and easy to shred chicken! I do recommend that you let the chicken cool a bit first. I tried to use it right away and couldn't make it spin and stick tot he counter. A minute later it worked perfectly.

This works great to shred chicken, but it is light weight cheap plastic. It would be easier to use if it was sturdier.
