The paddles are okay and are working well. The biggest issue we have noticed is the balls are heavier than name-brand balls and they seem to be molded with a heavy side. They seem a little off-balance when using them. Not that big a deal, seeing as both players have the same problem to deal with. Definitely worth the money to get back in the game and maybe upgrade as you see fit.

There is a pretty nice portable ping pong net on the box, which spurred a lot of complaints about the lack of a net. I must admit I had fallen for this like everyone else and was unpleasantly surprised when I couldn't find the "promised net". But when I read the product description once again, I quickly realized that... the joke is on me. There was actually no mention of a net anywhere on the product page. We all assumed wrong...That aside, everything in the box is all good: 2 pairs of paddles, all with smooth and rough surfaces; 2 colors balls, 3 each; and a carrying bag to put everything inside. They all work and do the job.This product could have been a solid 4 star, but the confusing package tends to mislead a lot of customers who don't really have time to peruse through the product description section, so I figured I'd take off 1 star for that. Hope the manufacturer can update the box later.

Good paddles but unusable ping pong balls. They are duds and have no bounce at all. Sent an email to the company directly and through the Amazon site, requesting a reply and asking for replacement ping pong balls but have not heard back. The 1 star is for the paddles, but you may want to order a set from another company that has both paddles AND ping pong balls that you can use and better customer service.

On the outside of the box, It was advertised as having a popup net to make any surface into a ping pong surface. This would make sense since it comes with a little carrying case, and the assumption would be to use this as a portable kit since, otherwise, it would probably just live on the table. So I did knock off a star for that.The paddles fit comfortably in my hands, but I got the paddles and balls set for kids to use since they end up destroying most things anyways. So far, these have taken a beating and are still surviving. The rubber hasn't peeled off yet, and the balls have a good bounce to them. If you are replacing an old set of paddles and are not a professional, these will do well.

Our youth group at church has a ping pong table, and they all love to play. We were looking to add some additional paddles to their set. These seemed to offer all the functions that we wanted in a set. We bought these and the kids have used them over the past week. The kids have commented on how nice they are and how well they grip the ball. Most of the kids are novice players, but they all seem to think these paddles are a major upgrade to the ones they had previously.

This is a good starter set and competitively priced when you look around and realize you are getting -four- paddles, six ping pong balls, and a carry bag. Each paddle is exactly the same - black on one side and red on the other. Each side has a slightly different texture which you can use depending on how you want to hit and spin the ball. They all have the same wood handle. They are lightweight and somewhat durable - just like all of the other paddles I've used growing up.The build quality seems fine for this price point. Look, these aren't competition grade paddles but they seem great for kids (or even adults) who are playing just to have fun. After taking the wrapping off each paddle, I had to press down where the black rubber on a couple paddles had started to bubble up. Easy fix and no problems afterwards. And I wouldn't smash someone over the head with these too often as they might break. But, again, just remember you didn't pay a lot for them.The set also comes with 6 balls. The balls are fine - not quite the super slick balls I've grown up with but they seem to work just as well - 3 white and 3 yellow.Everything came in a black drawstring bag but I doubt our equipment will ever find their way back into it. Good to take it with you when you travel, I suppose. For the price, this is a good set which accommodates up to four players. I recommend.
