My father uses these at his home right on the beach. During the late summer/early fall he always gets hit with a hurricane coming in land. Even if it doesn't come to his town the storms are huge and the water, rain and wind are a huge problem. He places these inside in front of the windows and sliding door. This has saved his home and carpet from major water damage.While it says these can be reused, he does not have a place to dry them out so he just orders new ones as needed.Think of them like an insurance policy. Not having to replace the carpet every few years is worth the price.
