I grew up loving to experiment with electricity. I found that my grandson is of the same mindset. Whishing that I had access to these when I was his age (6), I grabbed this set and have put together an electrical kit for him to play with when he is here. With knife switches, buzzers, battery holders, LEDs, lamps, and of course lots of lamp holders.... we have a great time. I am working on a fixed kit using a couple of old flat-cases (think about a Backgammon Case) to make him some easily tucked away learning kits. Endless possibilities. These lamp holders are great as you can use them as a flashing light, a steady light, a low voltage light, a high voltage light and so on. In other words, if you allow a child to wire multiple circuits at the same time, they can easily see the difference that each makes and with a lot to choose from (such as with this set), you can have a really good time.

One of the 10 came with two black screws instead of a red, but it's not a deal breaker. These work once I bought some bulbs but be sure you're careful of the voltage! I've been wanting to do more with electric circuits in my science classes and these are a great start. Now I need some wire with the ring terminals to make these easier to use. And bulbs with a higher voltage rating!
