I play games on my phone quite often and it tends to get warm pretty quickly and then the lagging begins—it's seriously frustrating. Thankfully this cooler does a decent job of combating that.It kind of clips on your phone—it won't fit smaller phones but it expands for bigger ones—and, as far as I can tell, it only works without your case. It cools down in no time and lasts long enough to get some nice game time in.Overall: I do wish it got colder than it does but, for such an affordable price, this is a fairly good little device to have on hand.

When I got this I immediately plugged it into my car. I live in a hot place, and when I'm using maps my phone overheats, so much so that the phone needs to turn the screen off and the maps often lag. I was surprised by how well this works, especially since the fan didn't seem very strong. This works really well! There is a metal plate which touches your phone (or case in my case), which is how your phone stays cool. If you're in need of a phone cooler, I would definitely recommend this one.
