I got this with the intention of doing some homemade sodas with syrups I made. This machine is so simple--it doesn't even use electricity. You just plug in the C02 canister by turning it to the right, get your water in the bottle provided between the lines and press down on the top button. I did 2 bursts of 3 second intervals to make the water as fizzy as I could. The first time I used fridge-temp water and it was only a little fizzy and went flat fast. The second time I followed some recommendations and tried doing almost frozen water which took the the C02 a lot better and felt more fizzy. The plain water was honestly nice on it's own. Please note you need to get a C02 tank to actually use this, otherwise you just will have a fancy piece of plastic.Speaking of, some downsides: it's all plastic. The instructions state you CANNOT replace the bottle with any other type of bottle, meaning you have to use the provided plastic. You can't use hot water to clean the bottle--the instructions literally say not to. The bottle is also only good for so many uses, meaning you'll have to buy a new one sometime in the future if you plan to use this a lot. It just feels very annoying to me--why can't I upgrade to glass? If you're looking to make your own soda, I think this is a reasonably priced option with one downside. I would recommend this for the simplicity and will use it to make my own soda.

This is a nice water carbonator. Itโs easy to use and easy to work. You do have to buy the CO2 separately, but thatโs not a huge deal. You can easily get it set up and use it without any problem. It comes with one bottle so I recommend buying another.

I see people are complaining about the price. Maybe they should look around to see that this unit comes in at a bargain compared to the others. The Phillips brand doesn't require electricity or batteries to operate. You just have to buy the C02 canisters and any flavoring you'd like. It easily and quickly makes fizzy water. I love that I can put my own filtered water into the unit so I know I'm getting clean water to start. I also love that I can experiment and make my own flavorings for all sorts of interesting alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It is simple, straight-forward and affordable unit if you want to save the landfills from all your soda water bottles. Buy it!

The thought of making what I call bubbly water and/or soda at home was intriguing, so I figured I would give this a try, especially considering the price is cheaper than a lot of others. It became apparent fairly quickly that the price may be because the appliance is made primarily out of plastic. I would have hoped for metal, but I'm still willing to use something plastic, as long as it works okay - which this does. The design is simple and the size is pretty decent. It doesn't come with the can of CO2 required to use it. I don't mind that because the price for that can is more than made up for with how long it (the can) lasts. I love that you can pick how bubbly/carbonated the water/drinks are. I'm not a fan of seltzer water, I prefer what I call bubbly water (the flavored water that you can get at grocery stores that is carbonated, but not to a seltzer water level). The whole thing is easy to use and seems to be fairly good quality, despite being plastic. I wish it came with more than one bottle to put your drink in, but I'm sure it won't be too difficult to find another one - plus the size of the bottle ensures you won't go through it too quickly anyway, which is a good thing. Overall, this has been a great way to make different carbonated beverages at home, as long as you don't mind having to buy the various things you need to comfortably use it (the CO2 cannister, flavor packets, additional bottles). I look forward to continuing to see what type of flavors of carbonated drinks I can make.

I got this machine because I've been wanting to make my own soda at home for ages, but didn't want to pay for the other models that cost twice as much, but then this came along and I was thrilled!Once you get the screw CO2 canister installed and have the included bottle filled with cold water, adding carbonation is a breeze. You can then add your flavoring of choice and enjoy a flavored sparkling water or soda without issue! My biggest problem with this whole thing though is that plastic bottles expire after your charge them because it's almost guaranteed they'll risk explosion after that point, however, due to their included bottle having locking pegs on the included bottle's throat to hold it to the machine, their own bottles they currently sell don't work. This is why I removed a star and know that from today (01/16/25) I only have 364 more days that I can use the bottle and then the machine is basically trash unless they start selling actually replacements.I do have a 3D printer and could probably print a locking collar or bracing base to keep the incompatible bottles of their own brand from popping off, but I should just be able to get them from the manufacturer!Either way, in enjoying using it for now and if they don't support their own machine, I'll get a different unit once this one no longer works...
