Picture is great when recorded on HQ (1hr) & SP (2hr) speeds on my DVD recorder. For me, these have always worked & the DVDs burn & finalize without errors. I've tried other brands but PHILLIPS has always proved to be the best quality blank DVD-R for use in my DVD recorder.

I have bought several of these Philips DVD-R 4.7gb 16x, 50 Cake Boxes and have had no problems when burning with my computer. However when burning with my standalone VHS>DVD recorder I have encountered a few disks that I get a message that (this disk can not be recorded on). When this happens the good news is that I can still burn that same disk on my computer. I believe that my standalone unit has a preference for certain manufactures disks and for the most part these Phillips disks fit the bill with very few not working on that recorder and no problems at all with computer burner.

Very good price and good delivery times too. My problem is that not all of the CDs are readable. I couldn't burn a lot of them. I'm not sure if that's a problem with all of the products, but I've seen other comments that are similar to mine. Hopefully they can compensate for it somehow.

Je ne sais pas trop ce qui s'est passé, mais j'ai eu plusieurs échecs de gravure avec ces dvds. La majorité des disques était OK cependant.

I've always found Philips products to be of superior quality, and these discs are no exception. They work well with my computer and produce perfectly readable files and sharp images.

If you rip a lot of DVD's as I do...this is what you need to do the job. Decent quality for I have not run across a bad disk yet. I am on my third batch of these blank DVD's. I rip lots of movies and these blanks are perfect for me. So far, I have not run across a bad disk...get some for yourself.

I've used Philips DVD-R discs for years and never had a problem with a bad disc or an inferior recording. I do not record from my computer but from my DVD Recorder (I have several brands) so I can't say if they're compatible with PC recording programs. The price is normally fair but I always wait for a sale to stock up. So far, I'd say I've used about 1,800 discs. The only time I've ever had a disc problem was when I realized my recorder was on its way to dying. The disc wasn't to blame for that.

The first ten or so DVDs I burned were just fine, but the rest in the whole pack wouldn't burn! I tried on 3 different burners, 2 different computers, 3 different burning programs. I eventually had to email the seller and get a replacement pack (the seller was wonderful, BTW), and I'm just opening it and using it now. It seems to be working, but I won't hold my breath. I've been burning my own DVDs for ten years, and this is the first time I've had bad DVDs. I won't be buying this brand again. The Amazon brand works wonderfully, I should have stuck with those!

these philips dvd-r discs worked well with only one disc error out of 50...but these dvd-r discs only work in the eternal dvdrw drive. for greater compatibility go with dvd+r discs.

I must make an initial disclosure. "Recordable" DVDs are inherently a difficult beast with which to deal. I have tried most every brand, and it does not matter whether I am editing a home movie, using them with my DVR, or simply storing data, there are always hiccups with each brand. This also includes cross-platform usage (e.g. Windows, Linux, Mac). You might now understand why I call them "Recordables." See, they don't always behave that way, and you might end up with a cheap cup coaster ;-)With that being said, Philips "Recordables" are the best I have experienced thus far. They have the least instances of hiccups, and don't seem to cause my drives as much angst. That is, they are more consistent than any other brand I have used (Sony, Memorex, Verbatim, HP, et al). That BY NO MEANS implies that they are PERFECT. In fact, they are FAR FROM IT. I believe that if any of these companies want to stay in business, they should make their products MUCH MORE stable.Keep this in mind as you seek to purchase "Recordables."
