For home defense, a person needs to learn to fire instinctively without looking down a metal sight, red dot sight, etc. This device allows you to re-use the ammo. The device works great, by the way!

I purchased this cause I was hoping to contain some of my sons air soft bb’s. I thought it was a little strange when I initially opened it. Its definitely unlike all the other targets we have. It’s about the size of a small dog house, it has bendable wires so twists and packs into a small bag which is nice. I like that it has the fringe inside to “catch and slow the bb’s down” (or at least that’s what I was told they were for). The hole is a nice size target itself especially for beginners. It’s held up nicely to 4 shooters and bags of bb’s at one time! Only wish it came with some targets to stick onto the Velcro they put on the front...

Designed for airsoft, but it can be used for Nerf darts and balls too. Actually, since it is light and made of thin material, I feel it is better off with a weaker average velocity ammunition anyway. I do a lot of reviews of the foam flinging blasters on Amazon, you may have seen some of the reviews where I use my ProChrono chronograph to measure the dart velocities of each blaster and give my opinion. Having to test all the different make and model foam blasters that there are can be tiresome, especially if I have to chase and pick up tons of darts and Rival Rounds that fly all over the place during my product testing. That is where this thing comes in. First thing upon seeing the carry bag was that it had a transparent pouch sewn into it (it is unclear why there is a clear pocket on it). After unzipping the carrying bag, I took the target trap out... “poof,” the thing springs open. Do be careful so you do not get smacked in the face. I have not, but the force at which I observed it open is mildly alarming. This is pretty much like the sun heat shields for your car, only much stronger since there are four sides to this box. Each panel has a loop at the top so you can hang it up if you so choose. You have to pull each of the sides apart to form this box; Once open, I noticed that it has a spot above the front “window” for Velcro patches (or perhaps something to hang?). The target is the size of one of those small refrigerators, or maybe a larger cat house. Obviously one of the panels has a large window opening to allow things to be cast into it. There are strips hanging down from the ceiling of the box, and also 3 sheets of material. The sheets are as follows: 2 behind the strips, + 1 final sheet in the back of it which is weighted down with a stick sewn into the bottom. The purpose of these hanging materials are to neutralize ballistic projectiles (like foam darts; by transferring the kinetic energy from the projectile to the strips and the sheets). You can simply gather the ammo that collects at the bottom of the target catch. Folding it up takes a bit of practice and a considerable amount of force since you have to align all 4 panels and then twist all 4 while you cram it into the carrying case (which is made of the same thin material). I experience a feeling of relief once I have it safely zipped up. In conclusion, I approve of this target and would recommend it for parents who need to give there kids something to shoot at that does not breath, and discourages darts and balls being left all over their floor.

Well, the delivery guy was so early that he woke me up...So when I opened the box, I was still not yet wide awake...The target was zipped up and looked like an 8 inch camouflaged pancake...Was going to go back to sleep for another hour, but decided to open it instead...I unzipped it, took it halfway out, and BOOM, it exploded most of the way open, and that woke me right up...It was still not fully open and was shaped like a clam, not a box...Took me a minute to figure out that you had to pull on a bar inside...BOOM, it exploded again into a cube...SIZEIt's bigger than I figured it would be...Dimensions are-21" tall19" wide19" deepThe opening is 14" wide by 15" in height...FUNCTIONIt's a pretty well thought out, but simple, design...The BB's first barrier to escape are the strips that hang down, which I'm going to call "confetti" 'cause that's what it looks like...After the confetti, there is a panel hanging down about halfway inside which is open in the middle...When the BB hits either panel, it is guided into the final barrier ...That one is a solid panel hanging down close to the back that is weighted with a bar...The base of the target is cup shaped due to gravity, leaving the BBs to collect in one spot...Also, plenty of room to place a target that is not a piece of paper inside this trap...Shooting paper is fun, but I like shooting objects, plastic cups and soda cans are fine...So, I got red cups to place right behind the confetti...After shooting cups for a while, I was impressed...The BBs rattled around in there but did not escape...Well, one did escape from a fluke shot that was absolutely dead on...That one came out and rolled right to my feet...So it's pretty good at keeping ricochets from three dimensional targets from flying out...Set up with paper targets it would be close to impossible for a BB to escape, unless the paper is set too loose...GUNSo far I've only been using my low powered 260fps Walther P22 springer with this, using .12 ammo...(According to many reviews, it's a bad pistol, but I've had zero issues with mine...I have 3 of them (one is clear and was bought as a collector's item) Anyway, moving on...Eventually, I'm going to use a bit stronger springer (320fps) with .20 ammo...If there is a difference in function with the higher velocity and weight, I'll update this review accordingly...Finally, I'm leaving some pictures with this review so you can see how big it is...There's a 1 foot ruler leaning against it...I also took a picture of the case...Hard to believe it fits into that...HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDHappy shooting !!!
