About this item

  • UNCOMPROMISED DURABILITY: Sometimes 'durable' gloves are bulky, stiff, and uncomfortable. With the Petzl CORDEX PLUS gloves, you don't have to compromise. The CORDEX PLUS features more leather in than our CORDEX glove, especially in the back of the glove and the palm. Soft, premium leather requires no break in period — striking a perfect balance between dexterity and durability.
  • PROTECTION WHERE YOU NEED IT MOST: A double layer of leather provides enhanced protection in high-traffic areas (fingertips, between thumb and forefinger) help prolong the CORDEX PLUS's lifespan. Extra padding in the palm of the glove helps prevent protect against heat generated during multiple rappels.
  • EASE OF USE: Simple, yet durable velcrohook-and-loop closure. Carabiner hole for easy storage and/or racking. No break-in period. Easy on and off.
  • EXTRA PADDING: Padding in the palm of the glove helps prevent protect against heat generated during multiple rappels.
  • CARABINER HOLE: Wrist hole fits most carabiners for easy storage and/or racking on your harness or gear rack.

These medium weight belay/rappel gloves offer extra protection without sacrificing dexterity. Double-layer leather and padding protect the palm from heat generated during long rappels or lowers. Fingertips and other high-wear areas are reinforced for increased durability. The back is made of leather with abrasion-resistant stretch nylon at key flex areas. The low profile neoprene cuff with Velcro closure features a reinforced carabiner hole for attaching the gloves to your harness.

Purchased these to use exploring abandoned PA coal mines. Great gloves, taking a lot of abuse and still holding up well. The small are a tight fit but I like the dexterity afforded with a tight fitting glove

This gloves are awesome. Just take in consideration before ordering them that if your in between sizes (M-L), the L size will fit you a bit tight but comfortable enough for you to accomplish any task.Don't forget to wash your hands after using them as if they get wet you might end with a black shade because of the dye used to color the product. Used them just a few times doing rappel from a Helicopter, and they still in pretty good conditions. Will keep you updated so you can take the right decision while buying a pair of gloves.

Los usé solo una vez para hacer cañonismo y quedaron muy desgastados y hasta con un leve agujero en la parte de los nudillos. No los volvería a comprar.

Prodotto perfetto, robusto, comodo e molto bello.Probabilmente servirebbe anche la taglia XXL, ma dopo un po' cedono e diventano perfetti.

Not overly impressed with the comfort of this glove out of the box, required a good break in before the seams in the finger tips are comfortable. The pinky finger is really long but other than those issues this is a well made pair of gloves. I wear a large glove and ordered the large size, initial fit is tight and becomes a bit looser after break in. For the money this is a good glove.

i first tried these on when I was practicing high line operations, rappelling, and belaying for firefighting. The instructors handed us these gloves and right when I put them on, I knew I had to get some for myself. While belaying and rappelling, we had to feed rope constantly, at times it would zip through our hands, but the gloves did their job without issues. By the end of the day, all the gloves had no fraying or any damage. I was pretty impressed. The gloves ran a bit large because I always wear medium gloves but the small that they handed me fit snug and good.As for the gloves that I just bought, I'm fairly pleased. At first, there was a slight problem with the thumbs, in that they are a bit to short. But after breaking them in, they feel great. Hands down the best pair of gloves I ever owned.

Ultra-comfortable. The goatskin is soft and flexible out of the box, and there is a plush lining inside. The comfort is top-notch. These are the luxury-car of rope gloves. With the stretch panels over the knuckles, my hands don't feel that they're binding anywhere. The wrist opening is very loose, so once you undo the velcro strap, these slide on and off quite easily.Love the carabiner hole for stowing on a belt loop when not wearing these.Past experience makes me weary about the low durability of goatskin. I'll be watching that aspect of these gloves closely.Fortunately, they did double up the goatskin in the rope channel on the palm, and on the first segment of the fingers. And there is no seam in the fingertips. Petzl wrapped the leather completely over the tips, moving the seams above and below the fingers instead, eliminating that nuisance area, as well as a common failure point. Most of the seams are double-stitched. So maybe there's nothing to worry about, after all...

I bought these for use on the Search and Rescue Team I volunteer with and I'm impressed. The leather is soft yet durable and the padding is very good while still providing dexterity. We had a training session in the rain last week and these got soaked. I'm happy to say that I dried them out and they are as soft as they were before getting wet.The carabiner hole in each cuff makes it easy to attach them to your pack when not needed and the Velcro cuff is perfect for keeping the gloves on your hands.the stretch nylon areas seem like they will provide some venting but I haven't worn them in summer heat yet so time will tell.I will buy these again with no hesitation.

The training that I've been involved with for the past few months has involved a lot of knot tying, rappeling, belaying, and other rope skills. So the requirements for the gloves we use are quite steep - durable, dextrous, and well padded. Some of my teammates traded off the durability and went with cheaper but well padded work gloves, thinking that they can replace them more easily. I went with a more expensive work glove with goatskin leather and a reinforced palm, believing in their claims of durability. These gloves were indeed dextrous, but I could definitely feel the friction of the rope on rappels and on a canyoneering trip, I burned holes into two fingers just after one day.Enter the Petzl K53 Cordex Plus Midweight gloves. I chose these over the lightweight Petzls because the leather is doubled up over the fingers. They are surprisingly nimble considering how much leather you have around your fingers. I actually find that I can tie knots faster with these because the leather is less likely to get snagged. The leather so far has held up well...not even the slightest bit of wear after a day of rappeling. All the seams remained tight and intact and the stitching shows no signs of fraying. I'll update the review more as I get to beat these gloves up.The palm is heavily padded to the point where it's a little difficult to tell if you're really holding a rope. The padding is really effective as I did some fast rappels and there wasn't even the slightest bit of discomfort. The lack of feeling in the palm does concern me for when I'm tired, cold, and my hands are numb - especially when rappeling on a thinner rope. But I suppose as long as you maintain a proper brake position, the grip doesn't have to be the most firm. The only other critique about the glove is that because of the great fit, it is more difficult to put the gloves on especially if your hands are wet. It would have been nice for a little elastic at the wrist so you can open the glove up more and get your hand in.
