Keep your pets out of flower beds, water features and other outdoor spaces with the PetSafe Pawz Away Outdoor Pet Barrier system. The system comes with a cleverly disguised transmitter that blends into your landscape plus a receiver collar for your pet. When your pet enters the barrier zone you set up, the transmitter sends a safe static correction to his receiver collar. When you set it up as a wireless outdoor pet barrier, you can adjust the circular boundary range up to 16 feet in diameter, or you can create a custom-shaped barrier using up to 150 feet of boundary wire (sold separately). This extra pet barrier only works if your pet is wearing a compatible Pawz Away Extra Receiver Collar or Yardmax Rechargeable Receiver Collar, sold separately. When your pet approaches the off-limits area while wearing a compatible collar, they will feel a safe but startling static correction that will deter them from lingering in the area. With a little time and training, your dog will learn to stop digging in the garden (and your plants will thank you). You can add an unlimited number of pets to the system if they’re wearing a PetSafe Pawz Away Receiver Collar (additional collars sold separately). You can also set up an unlimited number of “off limits” areas with additional collars.

Mi patio tiene un espacio donde cada vez que dejaba salir a mi perrito el se metia y se salía hacia el monte. Después de instalar el perrito trató unas 4 veces de salir y se retraía. Y ya nunca se volvió a acercar al área.

It has been constant battle to keep my pyrenees and munsterlander off the pond that they think is their personal spa… now they high tail away from it! So peaceful. I may use more to keep off my pool cover in winter which my pyrenees thinks is her trampoline! Wish these rocks had larger area. Wish you could get overlayed fake rock with it to decrease costs- got to cover it to ensure protected from winter. We will see duration over winter. Wire extension not practical if cant dig bc concrete patio area. Had to get two devices to cover 20ft circumference pond

There are rodents living in our neighbor's garden. Our cockatoo would spend hours digging away at the back corner of our garden, trying to get under the fence to get at them. She’s a small dog (25lb), but she would dig a massive hole, dirt flying everywhere. Muddy dog running around the deck.We tried everything - chicken wire wrapped around rocks buried in the corner (she digs under it), large rocks on top, a new cedar planter in the corner - she tunnels under everything. Finally, in desperation we bought this product. It works! We set the range to 4 (about 5 ft), placed the fake rock in the corner, and adjusted the collar. The first time she went to dig, there was some confusion, a bit of backing off, cautious circling of the area. She ventured into her favourite dig zone, but quickly backed off. This was the pattern for a few days, but then she just gave up on the corner. She still chases squirrels (and she caught a rat the other day), but she avoids the digging corner - even without the collar on.

This zaps my two 60-pound dogs and they feel it ... and they haven't gone back in the area I placed the transmitter since. However, the radius on this thing is no where near a consistent 8 feet. My dogs had to pretty much get on top of the transmitter before it zapped them. But I have the perimeter of the zone marked with a tiny brick wall and I think they associated the zap with going inside the bricks (which is fine with me). If I didn't have the brick wall though, I don't think this would have been as effective. At it's best, I measured the radius to be 6 feet in one direction. In other directions I got as low as 2 and 3 feet. This was my second unit and I used brand new batteries, so I really just think this thing does not work as far as they say it does.In summary, this thing is way overpriced for the way it under-performs, but I think my dogs are smart enough to associate the zap with the little wall I have around the perimeter so I was able to get the desired results. If this unit was half the price and advertised to work at a radius of 4 feet, I would have given it 5 stars.

I'm so mixed about these things, on one hand you have a product that WORKS to keep my pets out of places I dont want them. Whats REALLY awesome is that you can string a regular old wire around your yard and connect the ends to a couple of screws under the battery plate and essentially make the entire wire a hot zone. This works so great for an the area that leads up to our Gate because the dogs will not go there and I do not have to worry about them running off into traffic. So whats wrong? I have had 3 collars break. The cap that holds the batteries in is made so cheaply I even had one broken on receipt. We has started taping the caps so they do not get lost. Whats worse don't expect any support from the company they have COMPLETELY ignored my last two support requests. Also the batteries are always dying in the collars OR the cap comes loose and then collars dont work. I wish someone would make a quality version of these.

I purchased this item after seeing competitors products in action (Invisible fence). My medium sized (75lb) dog is familiar to a bark collar so I figured he would be sensitive to this product as well. I used the collar with just a rock and also with the rock wired up with the additional blue wire because I needed a whole garden area protected from the dog. As the instructions say, it does not work well near metal objects (like my a/c unit)as it interferes with the signal so you have to move it away from items like that. At the highest setting, I get about a 6ft distance from the rock. The competitors was the same if not less. Then I hooked up the wire to the rock and encompassed an flower bed area with about 100ft of wire. Again the unit worked exactly as specified. They instruct you to set the unit at one of the higher settings when the wire is attached for the unit to work correctly. I did that and when my dog comes within about 3-4ft of the wire he receives the impulse from the unit and turns away to go somewhere else to relieve himself. As the manual states, this unit will not contain your dog. It is not strong enough for that. It does, however do the job its supposed to do- gently but assertively persuade your dog to relieve himself in another area of your yard. Best of all, this unit was ridiculously cheaper than its competitor and the batteries you need (D batteries and small hearing aid type batteries)are easily found at your local CVS, Lowes, Etc. The competitor makes their batteries specific to the unit so you are forced to by them from them (at a high price of course). All in all, this product does exactly what I wanted it to do- keep my dog from eating and urinating on my shrubs and flowers! Hooray!!!

Bought this Outdoor Pet Barrier out of desperation and so far (1st day) it is working well. Our 15lb. rescue dog knows she is not supposed to go into my planter and always looks guilty when I catch her in there, yet the little stinker always goes in whenever I am not looking. Well, today she got quite a surprise when she tried to go into the forbidden zone and I think she'll stay clear of the area (at least while the collar is on). I'm hoping that over time she'll just get out of the habit to run through there, even without the collar on. Anyway, I'm pleased enough with this product that I am going to buy two more "rocks" for other areas of my yard. Some thoughts:- I am getting the advertised range of 16ft in diameter. If you do not, check the range setting under the lid using the + and - buttons.- If the collar seems not work at all, check that the button on the back of the collar is set to "on". It comes in the off position and you need to use the side of the tester thingy to change it. I may or may not have made that mistake. I'm not telling. ;) Also, check that the cell batteries in the collar are not dead on arrival.- The collar is not supposed to be worn for more than 12 hours at a time, so if you need 24hr coverage this is not the right solution for you.- My dog does not seem to have any discomfort from the collar out of the forbidden zone.- The shock is not painful, as other reviewers have mentioned. The warning beeps give the little beastie a fair chance to avoid the shock.- Lastly, the plastic clamshell-like packaging is horribly difficult to open. You risk slicing open your hand on the sharp edges. I have removed 1 star from my rating because of this. In fact, I have decided that whatever I review from now on will get a star deducted for this type of packaging. I hope manufacturers will someday get the message to stop using this kind of packaging and switch to something more earth and consumer friendly.Since this is only the first day I am using this thing, I can't speak to performance over time. If it stops working for some reason, I will post an update.
