Quality wise- this is great! It is made with high quality materials. Definitely worth the purchase! The downside- it is easy for a toddler to pull apart and make a mess out of. I wish the tank were more secure. Maybe screw on completely instead of just a half turn.Overall, easy to use and large capacity, I just wish it were more spill resistant.

Never place the reservoir in the dishwasher. I was already aware of the disclaimer from the company but it had slipped my mind, the hot water melted the exterior and deformed it as a result. That incident didn't prevent me from buying another one of these, which speaks to my satisfaction with the unit. I like the size and stability, I also have the water one which has been great over the long haul as well.Pros:☺ ValueCons:☺ None that I have noticed.Overall: Great little food dispenser especially for a cat... I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. The food sometimes comes out and sometimes it doesn’t. The only reason I don’t hate it it’s because my dog is smart enough to bump it with his nose and the movement makes the food drop.

I have 4 cats, my elderly cat named Ellie, I got the small waterer and feeder since the other 3 cats chase her away from the water and food in the back of my basement, I got the 0.5 gallon waterer with the 2Lb feeder for Ellie, and for the other 3 cats I got both the 10Lb feeder and waterer. I took the black part out where it prevents correct food flow, it works a bit better without it.****(LOOK AT MESSUREMENTS TO ENSURE YOU GET THE SAME SIZES IF YOU NEED A FEEDER AND WATERER!!!!)****

I absolutely love this product. I was going out of town to pet sit for my son while he was on his honeymoon, but had to find a way to feed my feral cats that come every evening, and so they would have a reservoir of food available to them. Bingo, I found this item and I immediately ordered two. I had previously bought a little cat house to shelter them from weather and give them a nice clean spot to sleep, but I converted it to their kitchen and filled the canister to the top and I was absolutely surprised to see that there were a few kernels of dry cat food left when I got home from my out-of-town visit. With the second canister, I decided to put my dog, who is on a diet and eats low-calorie food, I decided to see how it would be if I didn’t have to regulate his intake every day, and again, to my great surprise, he only ate until he was full and then walked away until the next day. Absolute miracle on both applications. Highly highly recommend. if you have ants that might get into the food, consider laying down a bunch of cardboard under the feeder and put a very little amount of granular triazide and wet it down really good and then put the cardboard down and then the cat house and feeder on top. I never, never use products such as triazide, but I had to make a choice as to whether my cats were going to be able to eat, or if the cat food was going to be ruined from an infestation of ants.

This feeder is exactly what I expected, it’s great for a large dog, and fits the larger biscuits including the moist ones.

We have two small dogs. One is a dachshund mix, the other is a poodle mix. Neither weigh over 15 pounds. Before we got the dachshund we just used an old style feeding bowl for the poodle, but after the dachshund came along, the food started disappearing a lot faster. I'm going to tell you what I have learned about these gravity-type feeders. Before having these little two dogs, I had a full-blooded chow-chow who lived nearly 14 years. He absolutely hated these feeders. And hated the watering ones even more. He was a fairly big chow-chow, about 85 pounds, picture of health. It was pretty simple to see that his big furry head had trouble getting his face down in these types of feeders. The watering one didn't release enough water for him to drink. I ended up buying him a big pan to put his hard food in and a large open water bucket. I would recommend those for anyone with dogs bigger than medium size. This feeder earns its five stars. I love dogs as much as anyone does, but these two small dogs we have now are the only indoor dogs I've ever had. They are both messy. I don't mean with potty issues or anything like that, but I mean with eating and drinking. The dachshund is especially messy. He pushes the food out of most feeder's bowls. He then plays with the food. Then he gets mad at the poodle for drinking "his" water and shoves the watering apparatus so it spills. This feeder stops him from doing it. We had bought a cheap feeder and watering bottle at a department store. The fault lies in the depth of the bowl. Not how deep it is or how much it holds, but the distance from the spout of the bottle to the bottom of the bowl. Then you take into consideration how wide the opening is. The cheap one we had bought allowed too much food to come out, kind of gave an avalanche impression. Dachshund had a field day with it. Not so with this one. The spout opening isn't near as big as other feeders I've used and the bowl is far enough away from the spout that it doesn't allow the food to pile up.Having said that as a very positive feature, it's most likely why other people are having problems with the food not coming out without a nudge. If you have a dog or dogs that likes to make a mess with food, this is the perfect feeder for them. I don't know much about the microban, but we wash our feeder and watering bottle weekly. Not surprisingly, I paid pretty much the same price for the cheap feeder as this one. In comparison, this one is worth its price easily. Also bought a watering bottle by the same company, review in my history.
