The color of the cut sections look very reaistic when viewed through my black mesh fireplace screen. I'm not sure yet if I need all the logs; five might do it. I'm still arranging.

A little disappointed in the color but the quality is very good. Logs can be moved around to achieve a desired arrangement.

Title says it all really, these are very heavy, very solid and are the most realistic I have seen. They are shaped and so not contoured with the realistic surface all the way around, this limits you somewhat (intentionally) to the layout and placement, I would have preferred a little more flexibility on this, but understand that is intended to allow best flame effect/visibility.Once heated, they will put out a fair bit of heat, more than I expected which is a nice bonus, logs directly in contact with flame will glow red hot in certain places.I would expect these to last indefinitely, and so based on that give them highest rating despite the high cost.

Our fireplace has a design defect, so every time we burned wood it would smoke. This is a perfect solution! Most people think they are real oak logs. In my opinion the split oak is the most realistic. The burn kit we bought really puts heat out as well! It smelled funky the first time we used it, but only then. LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!
