This deshedding brush works great on my double coated Austrailian Shepherd. I was able to remove a lot of tangles with this brush. It is very well constructed, it is made completely of metal and it is comfortable to hold and use. It has two sides so you can remove tangles and deshed with the same brush.

I got this for my cats, and had a mixed reaction. The one cat loved it and purred the whole time. The other cat really hated it. So some of this is going to come down to the individual kitty.However, it gets the loose fur off well. I have a medium haired cat who sheds like crazy and suffers from hairballs, so this really helped him out. You have to be careful not to pull the cat's fur while you're brushing them. But it works quickly and well, is easy to clean. An all-around great basic pet brush.

I groom my cats and dog daily because they are high shedders. Usually I use a wide tooth comb, but this brush for shedding sounded like it might do a better job. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell any difference.There are two sides to this brush, one side has more teeth than the other side. I tried them both. Both sides went through the cat fur ok, but my dog's fur is thick and a little curly. The side with the closer teeth wouldn't go through her fur well.The handle was comfortable (better than a comb), and my pets all tolerated it fine.

When I first opened it, I was a tiny bit scared at first of the metal "teeth". You do have to be careful not to put too much pressure/force down while brushing them - it's better to just lightly drag it over top of their coat without pressure to avoid actually tugging their fur. I didn't really notice a difference between the two sides (one has more teeth and they're closer together), but I do think this tool does a good job of bringing the loose fur to the top and removing it at the source before your cat has a chance to get it all over your house lol. Both of my cats sniffed it at first because they didn't know what it was, but neither of them seemed bothered while I was brushing them, and I think they probably actually liked it assuming it felt like they were being scratched.

This brush really pulls the loose fur out fast, especially in spring shedding season--prepare to generate a whole second pet from whatever critter you're brushing! I have long-haired dogs that always blow their coats, and this dethatching brush really powers through the job. It sweeps big clouds of undercoat up with it, so I like to be out on grass on a dry day that isn't too windy when I'm using this thing. The teeth are easy to clear---just wipe the head of the brush backwards against the lawn, and the fur falls away.I love that the head is attached to the handle in one solid piece on this brush. I used to have an old one which relied on glue, and the head would pull free periodically during brushing. That will never happen with this design.

I am beyond used to brushing my cat with the sharp brush or stiff comb that is usually marketed in the pet store. I got this tool since I just couldn’t get my pet to shed efficiently while brushing. This tool not only gets the surface hair, but lifts the shedded hair off their coat while being smooth enough to actually let my cat enjoy being brushed. The other brushes I’ve bought in the past couldn’t get the knots out of my cat’s fur. I’ve had to cut the knots out myself prior to this tool. Within the first use, I was able to comb out the knots AND watch my pet fully enjoy the brushing. Amazing product!
