This gate is very good quality. We highly recommend it for using with a small dog. The wood is smooth. It is sturdy but lightweight enough to move around. And it looks nice too. We purchased 2. The slats are very close to each other so it can be used with a small puppy. We have a 3 month old Chihuahua and I was concerned with a different style one that we tried that her head could get stuck. But with this brand, it is unlikely to happen. It is also a little shorter than most, which is great because my cat can easily jump over it. My husband can step over it but I can't. It is light enough to lift and move the corner panel open, but not if you are carrying stuff. We will need these gates up for several months, I need to go through them several times in the day,...so I came up with an idea of attaching some tiny 1/2" swivel casters to the bottom. Now I can just push the corner open/closed with my toe if my hands are full.

Great product to use with our 8lb chihuahua. Well built, simple, attractive, lightweight, and small compared to baby gates. I am particular about pet products, but this little gate is surprisingly impressive. I was skeptical about it being wood because I didn’t want something heavy. But, it is lightweight and easy to move around, and small to fold and tuck behind a chair, take to a motel, or whatever. We got the white and it is kinda classy, not junky looking at all.

I have a mini schnauzer and mini poodle and this works for them. They could jump over it if they really wanted to but it's the perfect height that they can't hop over.

These are perfect for keeping my medium sized dogs out of areas. I have one in the doorway to my office so they can’t go in there (and I can leave the door open) and one at the opening to my loft area where there is no door. Sure my Jemma could jump over these if she wanted or even knock them over. But she’s a good girl. They’re short enough to step over when going in and out of those areas and they look cute too.

I love the quality of this wooden pet gate! It's precisely cut and assembled and folds very well. The paw design is cute, too.It does seem rather short for a dog - many dogs, even some small dogs, would be able to jump over this gate. And all cats, unless they're unable to jump for some reason.I'm using it to separate the territories of two male, free-range, bearded dragons. Because they go crazy when they see each other, I had to add some frosted window film on each side to obscure their view through the slats. It works very well and looks perhaps even nicer! You can see the same pattern as before, just with a soft glow of light instead of the open slats.In general, this gate works great for any animal that's big enough that it can't fit through the slats and also small enough, lazy enough, heavy enough, whatever - to not climb or jump over.

We purchased this gate to keep our miniature dachshund from going upstairs and possibly hurting herself by falling. It's the perfect height since she's so short and can't jump over this yet we can easily walk over it to get to get upstairs. You can use this to block off any area that you want to keep your small dog from getting to for his/her own safety. It's also not ridiculously wide as some are too bulky for certain areas. It's attractive and not an eyesore at all. Highly recommend it for very small dogs.
