This product is a recycled model. It was supposed to be a brand new, unsed set. The two are of different sizes and have the residue from previous use. The larger one is broken and both are missing the pieces for extra spaces within the adjustment. Very unsatisfied.

I ordered these boot stretchers for my husbands cowboy boots. He has a wide foot and one tends to bother him so he put these stretchers on them and they worked great.

First of all they do work to widen boots at a good price if used carefully and correctly. Do not try to over tighten, be patient and stretch incrementally. Also do not screw them all the way back down as the tensioning nut will fall off the screw.Cons-*Quality control on the holes for the plastic pieces is terrible. Some holes wallowed out and some look like the bit was pulled out too fast leaving side chaff and making the holes too small to accept the pieces. Easily reminded with a drill and bit but I shouldn’t have had to to clean the drilled holes.*Toe not shaped narrow enough for pointed toe boots.*Cheap grade of pine wood used.I would pay a little more for a slightly higher quality of material, design and workmanship.

stretcher opens up to around 3.5 inches in width. my keene size 12 wide were no match for the petite halves. once you open it past 3.5 inches the metal block slips out of the channel and the wood halves stop separating and the stretcher stops getting wider. the weird ramped toe taper might work for ballet slippers or high heels but this item will not work for large mens boots. maybe mens or 9 or 10 (and NOT wide) boots might be compatible? otherwise stretcher seems to be well constructed

I purchased this to slightly widen my wife's new western-style boots. She wears a 5.5 wide (almost impossible for her to find) and these stretchers were able to incrementally widen her boots which came as B size (US woman's size) to comfort for her.I tried a few of the included pressure relief pads, but had to remove them because I could not position the tree into the boot where it needed to be stretched. Without the pads it fit (with some pushing), and I did three initial turns on the rod that expands the tree for each shoe.My recommendation is to NOT go more than three turns, initially. After a period (two-to-three days), give it another turn and repeat that a day or so later. Then give them a try.One note: on the boots my wife received (Tecovas brand - high quality stuff) one of the boots was a little looser than the other. I recommend trying boots or shoes on and if they have an asymmetrical fit in which one boot or shoe is looser than the other, go three turns on the tight one and one or two on the looser one.Bottom line: this is a great stretcher in my opinion. It works the way it should and since my wife also loves moccasins that inevitable need breaking in, I am sure we will continue to get good use from this set.
