Control the strength of whiskey you like. Works like a real barrel. You’ll have to seal leaks with bees wax and as you test flavor you can add more to barrel due evaporation if you want.I have two and the printing is excellent. You can pick some beautiful fonts. Quality is like their product ad picture.

First the appearance is amazing! The engraving is amazing! I filled it with water like the directions said to and absolutely NO LEAKS!!! Highly recommend this barrel

I was very excited to put this barrel to use. I'd been reading about aging your own whisky and was eager to try it out. After receiving the (first) barrel, a 5-liter version, I immediately began 'prepping' it, strictly following the provided directions, which is pretty much just keeping it filled with water for 2-5 days. Unfortunately, the barrel continued to lose an ounce or more of water per *day*. This loss never decreased and, at that rate, I would lose about one quart of spirit per month. Now, there is a normal, expected amount of evaporation (the "angels' share") but a quart-per-month loss is far beyond what is normal.I contacted the seller and they offered to ship me some barrel wax. I accepted and applied the wax around the seams but this did nothing to stem the loss. When I let the seller know, they sent me another barrel and I again prepared the new barrel according to the instructions. After keeping the barrel filled with water for a few weeks, this second one continued to lose liquid at the same rate: about an ounce per day.All of this happened over the course of several weeks, between the shipping times and the barrel preparation and the communication with the seller. Once I determined that the second barrel was also leaking, I let the seller know and asked for a refund, offering to send both barrels back so they could see for themselves the leaking problem. I never heard a word, and still haven't, after giving them a month to respond.So I have 2 useless barrels and am out over $100. I also have to question whether I want to take a chance with another seller. I really wanted (*want*) to try and age my own whisky but at this point, is it worth the risk of dealing with another unethical seller? I don't know.

My original order had a couple of problems. The cradle was poorly finished and the bottom stave was actually cracked, which I didn't notice until after I had filled it with bourbon. I contacted Sofia's Findings about the cradle and Hamid said that he would send a replacement cradle. I contacted him the next day about the cracked stave and he said that he would just send a full replacement. First of all, the original order was delivered in just FOUR days!!! Hamid said that my replacement would be shipped in 2-3 days. It arrived today (about 7 days after first contacting them) and I am thrilled. While my original barrel is leaking slightly from the cracked stave, I'm not losing a lot. As soon as I have conditioned my new barrel, I will transfer my aging bourbon into the replacement barrel. I have been sampling my bourbon almost daily and I can't believe how the taste is improving.While their quality control was not up to snuff on my original barrel, their customer service and overall product deserves 5 stars!

Thank you!Bought this as a aging tool for a batch of wine my husband was especially proud of brewing. We thought aging it in the oak barrel would really enhance the flavor. It did. Added a depth it did not have before aging.Buttttt Next time we may try the pieces of wood you can add instead of barrel aging.💔💔💔It's me. It's not you. 💔💔💔This product is beautiful. And makes a great display piece nestled proudly in the middle of corked wine bottles.As an aging tool...
