Fun for hours! My kids made a bunch of creations and then had fun charging them in the sun and taking them into dark rooms to see the glow. A camera flash is also a super fun way to make the beads glow ;) The bucket comes with enough beads for several glowing creations, and the black beads accented them nicely.

I just wrote this review for a perler bead kit but it applies to this one as well: My 8 year old son loves this craft, I have so many of these little things around the house that I could gift to a small village of grandmas lol. He sits at the table and places each small bead and completes his design, he has ADHD and ASD and I've found it to be a great fine motor activity and patience. We will keep stocked with this craft.I will add to this that these beads do glow in the dark, I don't need shades or anything but my son was pleased with how they glowed. Just have to charge them up with direct light first.

5 colours in this tub, pink, blue, orange, yellow and black. Only 4 of these colours glow. The black is a normal black bead that doesn’t glow. We tried it under ultraviolet light as well. Nope, just a normal black bead 😂. It would have gotten 5 stars from us as we bought it expecting every bead to glow since we have plenty of black beads

After much research this is our first foray into fuse bead activities. We haven't found any misshapen beads at all. The bucket did look rather small and I was dismayed thinking they'd only get to make about 4 each. Well the pic is what they made today AND we still have a little over half the beads left!Very active 7 and artsy 5 yo spent ALL day (starting right after breakfast and only stopping for meals and bathroom) doing this and 3 yo played with the beads a lot too. I poured the beads in a tall rimmed large stoneware plate and it didn't get spilled even once. Also we used the masking tape transfer trick (Google it) so they could keep using the boards to make more and then we ironed them all at once at night. The beads melted very nice and evenly without any strong scent which was reassuring. If you have very observant and detailed children (or a touch OCD as an adult) use your own smooth parchment paper as the fold lines on the included ironing paper do show up faintly when you fuse the beads. This is a great starter set and the 4 solid (not clear) peg board shapes were the perfect size for our kids. They liked that they glow too! It is a great cold/quiet day activity :)

My kids LOVE perler beads. If I want them to be occupied all I need to do is suggest they do them. Most of the time they are begging me to do them.My 10 year old basically thinks perler beads are for making Mine craft figures only. She has made some incredible things and you can find almost anything on a search online to make to get and idea how to make it.Be sure to try to keep the kids from dumping the bin! It was inevitable with the young kids I have and they have been spilled a few times. It is a pain to clean up...but even the mess keeps them occupied.I just wish I didn't have to be the one to iron them all but I don't trust my kids to and it is pretty finicky to try to figure out how long and hard to press to get them to melt just perfect.Perfect gift for kids age 7-13 in my opinion. Buy a set. Even adults have fun with it.
