The plastic "arms' are very flimsy and not slide around not holding many papers and "arms" are not staggered and the width of the first few "arms" is the same size as 8.5x11 paper so if you file anything in A or B slot you cannot see C and D.

When I started working in an office many years ago, we had these types of sorting items. They seemed so old fashion to me at the time but having utilized them for so many years, it is a natural reaction to grab them for sorting. They have many uses, not just for office work. So easy to use and doesn't take up a lot of space.

It can be used to sort a great variety of things. Wipes clean if you spill your coffee on it.

June 2024-I wanted to add an update because everything is so expensive, I wouldn’t want others to waste money. I used them for about 3 weeks before ordering the sturdier ones. They are entirely too flimsy for students to use. Their papers were jammed so tightly that papers would rip. Other brands stop the paper before they reach the bolt that holds the sorters together. I would not recommend for an elementary classroom. However, I will continue to use them for myself as the teacher.I ordered this on July 15th and it was delivered today, July 22. Not a terrible wait. I rated three stars until I have a chance to test the the above descriptors. I'm very concerned by the overall flimsiness of the material. The plan for these sorters is to be used for students to turn in assignments. I took them out of the box and they all but bent in half. I'll update after I have a chance to put them to use.

I had so much filing it got out of control. The office sorter organized all my file and paperwork according to where they fell within the alphabet. It was so much easier to file with the sorter. I highly recommend.
