Removed one pulley but it damaged the threads and now unfortunately it won’t be pulling anymore. Had to modify the piece in the 2nd pic and use a hose clamp to hold the 2 haves together.the supplied sleeve did not cut the mustard .Now I can use the other tool in the kit and see if it will install the pulley. Install tool I had to cut off the small thread section.anyone that gives this tool anything more than a 1 star had a very easy pulley to remove. Tool is junk. Spend the $60: and get a good one. And that’s all I have to say about that.😃

the back of package says it's for V6 applications but I'll confirm I was able to remove the PS pulley off my LS1(V8), it worked great!(but can't confirm if pulley installer works but I'm sure it will)

Needed to change power steering pump on 1500hd so the pulley had to come off. After cutting tool to size the bolt striped. Applied heat to the pulley, wd40 to shaft and oil on threads of puller. It still striped the bolt. Garbage product.

This tool is supposed to allow you remove a pully from GM style power steering pumps fitted to many boats. The concept is good, but the execution is poor and very cheaply manufactured - but really, what did I expect for 20 or so Euro? I should have spent more on a proper tool rather than wasting my time and my 20 Euro.It is constructed from mild steel that bends at the first attempt.Couple that with a very sloppy fit over the pully clamp section and you have a tool that seems doomed to failure.

At the base level it works exactly as described. However it is not universal to all GM products. I specifically searched for a puller / installer to work on daughters car. It has the 3.5 L chevy V-6. The puller works fine right out of the package. Lube up the threads and the pivot point before using. That being said the problem is in the install tool. The one in the package is cut with smaller and finer threads at the end and then the remainder of the shaft is 3/8 x 16 threads. See the attached photo and you can see this. Unless I cut the finer threads off it would only grab one or two threads when I try to press on the pulley to the new pump. If I cut the finer threads off I was still concerned then that it would not allow enough threads to get me a full bite. Anyone who has ever used these tools before know that's not enough and you can strip the threads thus making the new pump worthless. I guess this was done to try to make it universal but they failed. There is a solution to this. I looked at some of the more expensive kits after i purchased this one. They had two bolts that looked to be used for installing the pulley. I ended up making a new bolt (use grade 8 all thread) to install the pulley. I locked two nuts on one end to give me a head to hold the bolt while installing the pulley. In the picture you can see this as the bottom bolt. It has an acorn nut on the end, flat washer then another nut to lock it in place. Using this allowed me to install the pulley just fine. I located the all thread grade 8 bolt at a specialty bolt and nut shop in town. You won't find this at a local hardware or big box home improvement store. Cost was $2.00. Cheap and allowed this puller / installer to work. Yes the attachments in the box worked. Had they included a bolt long enough and not dual threads I would have rated this five stars for the price point vs ease of use. If you purchase this yourself and want to make the other bolt be sure to use a grade 8 bolt / all thread. A standard bolt will strip out or worse break off in the shaft.

Very comfortable and very fine . Amazing for the price. The texture looks strong and last long. I love how they are flexible and they do charge pretty fast.

I used it on my 5.7L Chevy Suburban but had to cut some off the smaller stud on the remover because it wouldn't insert far enough into the ID of the pump shaft. I saw a few similar comments from other reviewers. Worked after that but I think I cut off too much before I realized what was intended by it's design. This is hard to explain but read this if you need to cut it. The stud portion you see in the picture (remover only) is smaller than the opposite end and actually is not an integral part of the larger stud ie is not a continuous piece a metal machined to different diameters. The smaller stud (that I had to cut) snaps into the larger stud and has a ball bearing between the two allowing the two portions to rotate independently to minimize binding. Ideally, you want the smaller stud to bottom out inside the pump shaft just before the larger stud makes contact with the shaft otherwise you don't get the benefit of the ball bearing design. But you have to cut enough to prevent the smaller stud from bending when applying force. You'll have to get it in your hand to understand what I'm trying to say. Also, grease the threads on both tools to minimize thread binding. It helped tremendously. It took quite an effort to remove the pulley. I had to use long wrenches for better leverage and I had to put so much force on it I thought the tool would break but it didn't. Both tools worked fine.

I received the tool within 1 day instead of 2. I am already impressed!:) I used it on my 2003 Chevrolet Malibu to remove the power streeing pulley and it worked perfecly.Spray it with you favorite lubricating spray and let it sit for a night if you can. Then simply hold the nut with an open ended wrench and turn the center screw with a socket. It's easier if you can put the pump it in a vise. The pulley came off easier than expected. When you hear a clicking sound don't be alarmed, it means the tool is doing it's job.

Power steering pump pulley removal/replacement on 2006 Chevy Express 2500. These pulleys are pressed on and fight just about to the end, so a tool like this is required, not optional. Grease or oil the threads, impact is faster, but can be used with a wrench. I am not sure how many times it could be used; it shows no wear after one time but "feels" a bit light for the task. Nonetheless, it does work as advertised and considering the cost it is more than adequate. For the occasional use, I'd say it's perfect. For a production environment, I would use it as a backup tool. In other words, a good value for the dollar and most surely functional.
