I bought this to go with my new high-life paddle board/ kayak hybrid and it works great! I easily switch between the two with no issue. I did buy two sets of grips. I only technically needed three grips with this but they are sold in sets so now I have an extra in case I need to switch one out. Highly recommend if you bought the perception hi-life 11’ kayak

I made a mistake and bought the wrong paddles for our SUP boards from a local box store . Once we took these paddles and used them once finding out they were not the right ones we tried to return but the box store ( Dunhams ) would not return them so I had to order at least one for my granddaughters who might want to use my new Kayakes ( Perception Highlife ) as a SUP board . This is the paddle you want if you have that Kayak !

Ordered this paddle for use with a Hi Life. While the hybrid kayak was being shipped, we had opportunities to test out the paddle in an inflatable kayak. It represents an enormous step up from the cheap multi-part paddles that came with the inflatable. Except for packability and weight, this paddle is better in every way, specifically, it's longer, stronger, less flexible, enters the water more quietly, and converts into a SUP-compatible paddle using a third section that clips in. It also has clip locks for various paddle lengths in case you need to adjust. It is heavier however than other paddles we use, but it's not so significant that it cuts down on how long one can use it in a day. The blade shape is fairly plain and canoe-paddle-like so it can easily be used for SUP purposes. I also use a different Perception paddle that has a more curved kayak-style blade as well for both kayak position and SUP position, and that works fine as well. I suspect that blade shape has less importance for touring than it would for whitewater applications.Durability (so far -- about 40 hours on the water) seems high, with no damage, no finish rubbing off, no failure of the clips or mounting. The supplied drip cups work properly.

Great paddle, better price. I’ve personally used it once to kayak and stand up paddle. Good range of lengths. My husband used (SUP paddle) to move his broken-down boat in a lake. He said it was a life saver. Buy the paddle -don’t buy a motor boat.

My SUP-Yak came with paddles but each piece of the paddle drawn. Already lost one paddle. So I did some shopping, tried 3 paddles, from $50 to this one of $80, and one for $110. Only this paddle has each single piece float independently and also while put together. The length for both the SUP paddle setup and the Yak paddle setup is adjustable in length. No other paddler I tired has this. Not too heavy. The weight is evenly dispersed. Also it comes with a mouthing bracket.Only CON: the black color aluminum shaft heats up in the sun, but cools down quick in the water.Update: several weeks laterStill happy with the paddle. I got a second paddle. Still work great. Reliable. Do not drown. Each piece floats. This should be the standard paddle everyone should have.

Love this for the perception hi-life. Sturdy and I like it better than some of my more expensive paddles. Converts easily from SUP to kayak paddle......no issues with slipping when wet or weight .

This kayak has the ability to basically be a SUP too, not a fast moving one, but I wanted the ability to be able to stand up and paddle and have this all on my yak. I quickly learned, this was amazing and to change from blade to handle is extremely easy. For the price point, this by far was useful. The cons would be that it's probably not the best paddles on the market, but again I wasn't looking to spend a fortune on them, just an upgrade from what I had. I like the paddles because they are big enough to move a lot of water and get me moving quickly. Also, use as a SUP this paddle has great variety of height and comes in advantage during different paddle strokes. They are a little loose, but trust me, I mean it's small, they don't move a lot once inserted and ready to go, but they did have a little wiggle, but I'm good with that, just wanted ya'll to have a proper review.

I own a LOT of paddles, many different brands and material construction. This paddle sounds great, and if you have no basis of comparison, it is a good paddle. But, if you are a paddler, you will not be happy with this paddle. It's very heavy, and the blade shape is not the most efficient. Not only that, the pieces are all supposed to float, they all do not. I lost a section the second time out with it. If it was a good paddle, I'd order a piece and get it back on the water, but I'm not going to bother. I wouldn't use it anyway.
