This Pentek 143549 Differential Pressure Gauge indicates when a filter cartridge should be replaced. It has a simple three-color display and needle indicator to show when a cartridge is clean, in need of replacement, or dirty, and it attaches to the caps of Pentek 3G MM (meter mount) filter housings. This differential pressure gauge works with Pentek 3G MM (meter mount) filter housings, which are used for applications such as drinking water purification, food service, and humidifying systems, among others.

Water filters remove undesirable particles, chemicals, and microorganisms from water by means of a semipermeable barrier, adsorption, or biological processes. They are made of densely packed synthetic or natural fibers that trap suspended particles, materials that block microbes or adsorb unwanted chemicals, or substances that cause a chemical change, such as acid neutralization. For most residential, commercial, and industrial applications, water filters are manufactured in the form of replaceable cartridges that fit inside permanent housings. Filtration systems typically consist of a series of two or more types of filters, each designed to remove different contaminants. The performance of filters is measured by the minimum particle size that is blocked, the percentage of particles or microorganisms that are removed, the downstream concentration of unwanted chemicals, the maximum flow rate, and the amount of water that can be filtered before the filter must be replaced. Water filters are used in a wide range of applications, including drinking water purification, swimming pools, industrial processes, and irrigation, among others.

Pentair manufactures industrial, commercial, and residential water filtration components and systems. The company, founded in 1966 and headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001 and 14001 for quality assurance.

These look nice and I understand why people would want them on their filters, especially if they don’t have the see-through housing. But, they totally do not work. The needle just goes goes/points to dirty whenever there is water flow, even with brand new filters.

These are great little additions to the pentek series. The only thing to keep in mind is that the gauges read when there is flow. Without flow, there's no pressure drop and the gauge will read zero. However, before having a filter with one of these, I constantly forgot to change out the cartridges until they clogged up the system.

Very expensive for what it is. All that seals it is rubber o-rings that do not seal it too well. I wish i had not bought it and just plugged the holes. The water actually goes through the plastic bolts to the meter...not a great design in my mind. The entire assembly feels cheap but it sure isnt at over $50...i wish i had just gotten the model that doesnt have the gauge.
