I love the color it is a shade of blue which I find it gets my attention. I find It very nice to write with this ink, I don’t have feathering, so yes it is easy to write with, I don’t have any problems with the ink drying up in my fountain pens, it functions as it should. It doesn’t leak out of my fountain pens. The bottle should last for a long time.

The ink is a wonderful ink, and is the quality that you would expect from pelican. It is inexpensive, and comes in a nice glass bottle(I weirdly like my inks in unique glass bottles, it just makes it a bit more fun) The ink is on the drier side, just as most people say. The reason that I am only giving it 4 out of 5, is the color. It is called Brilliant Brown, but all that I see is a more conservative Orange color. In bright sunlight it has an even stronger orange look. I have tried it in multiple brand pens, with multiple sized nibs, and to me it always looks orange. I have not included a photo because cameras and monitors cause the colors to be seen differently, and because we all see colors differently. If it was called something else I would give it a 5 out of 5. As long as one is aware that it might look orange to you(or possibly brown) this is a wonderful ink that I always have in one pen when I want to write with a bright ink.

This color is very beautiful, and it was what I was looking for. This color is vibrant🥰 and soft when writing or drawing with the fountain pen. I loved it!

I love this ink. I will get a lot of refills out of this bottle so definitely a good value for the money. The bottle opening is the perfect size for refilling your pen which makes it easy to use. The ink is water resistant at least to the test I did. It's easy to clean the ink from the nib.

Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue has been the bane of existence for students of all ages for generations. It is a great ink for simply getting your ideas on paper; it has no special "WOW" effects...except that it is also washable, and mistakes can be chemically neutralized (with a special ink eraser, and the neutralized area must then be overwritten with a ballpoint pen...important if lining out mistakes is not an option). Usually sold in disposable standard international cartridges, this has been the go-to ink for students in grades 3-13 for many European students, because of it's ease of use, low maintenance requirements, and its ubiquity on the market. This 1-Liter bottle is not for the casual fountain pen user; if you write at least ten pages per day, even with your Pelikan M1000 with a nib, this bottle would last you over three years...with a standard pen, and "normal" amounts of writing, this one bottle can take you from Freshman in High School through your Masters Degree. It is intended to refill your standard (62.5ml) Pelikan glass bottle, and thus provides an economical alternative to purchasing a new glass bottle every time it's empty.NOTE: Store this bottle in a cool, dark spot, as you should with ALL your other inks. The water WILL evaporate through the walls of the plastic bottle; heat will accelerate the evaporation, and sunlight will cause the ink to loose its rich blue color.

Using this ink in my Bastion Fountain Pen. Was looking for a black ink that wasn't pure black. This ink dries with an almost grey tone to it. It is absolutely what I was looking for on this go around. Beautiful. Also to note, since the ink isn't too heavy, the bleed through on standard notebook paper is non-existent.

First things first this is cheap and for being so cheap it is amazing the ink is amazing in general it’s not thick and it is easy to refill my pen using it. The j m does bleed through paper however not a lot.

Lovely, rusty color. Not waterproof, and can be smudged for special drawing effects. Good.

The decision of Sheaffer to discontinue the Skrip line left me scrambling to find replacements. I use all kinds of black inks in my pens, from Kaweco, Pilot, Sailor (I quite love Gentle Black), Platinum (carbon black is another favorite), Monteverde . et al.. But Sheaffer had a very special place on my shelf. It was THE black ink that i used in any pen, regardless of vintage or how long i was planning on leaving it in there. I knew it would flow easily, wash out easily and give me a dark black line. I've used it since i was a boy in old Sheaffer pens, from the mid90s flat top range (which were the first such pens i used), to Parkers, Vintage pens of all kinds. I've just never had trouble with this ink. I never was easily able to find a replacement. Parker Quink Black is a very easy ink to clean but is not terribly dark, even as it is very wet. Herbin Perle is gorgeous but i find it tends to dry out very quickly and it is so saturated, i try to use it very quickly in vintage pens. Pelikan, i initially bought to use in pens that have noticeable nib creep, but it is such a phenomenal ink, I've just switched bit by bit, to using it in everything. It isn't as dry an ink as i assumed it would be; nevertheless, in pens with very light flow, i find this ink actually shades up a bit. It's super dark, matte-black normally. It writes smoothly in every pen i've tried. Funnily, Pelikan Blue-Black has taken Skrip Blue-Black's place on my shelf as well. It's every bit as good (if not better). I should mention waterfastness, or "bulletproofness" is not something i typically look for in an ink. I don't care in the slightest for such properties - I actively seek inks that don't have these properties - i just use these inks as daily writers, and so weigh my opinions accordingly. For anyone with a vintage pen collection trying to avoid more alkaline Japanese inks and looking for a nice dark black which won't dry out in a sac or aerometric convertor, this is really the first (and maybe only) ink you should need.
