Pelican Protector Cases are made with Copolymer Polypropylene, using an open cell core and solid wall construction, which is stronger and lighter that the completion. You can tell its a Pelican case by the distinctive "twin-ribbed" top surface. Stainless steel pins are used for hinges and handles. The new Double-Throw latches are much easier to open.

I have many pelican cases but this 1450 my first one and I purchased from Dubai , I must say this is the most rugged protector series case it can hold one S1 camera and one or two compact lens only with a battery mine is desert Tan and I love it's quality must say build like tank . If u want little large one better go for Storm iM2450 , I purchased each pelican cases after days & months of deep research , must say these both are the best strong cases ever made .

This is a very serious case that I've had since 2011. The foam insert can be easily adjusted to fit anything. I use it for a Springfield .45 auto handgun and spare magazines. This case could really withstand a fairly high drop or other luggage stacked on or around it on a plane. It really is impervious to water and dust infiltration and can be double locked. Very secure cushioning for handguns and other types of delicate cargo. The outside skin of the case is bullet proof but not in the literal sense! If you droped the case with a hand gun or rifle Scopes, you are not going to damage anything! The cushion inside is very thick charcoal color foam that can be plucked out in cubes to fit you pistol or whatever!I opted for the pluck out foam cube interior, other configurations available. I really love this case for handguns and don’t worry about water and dust at all getting in this case. I think the price is well worth what you get. You may find a cheaper imitation but it won’t withstand what this case can.

I found the Pelican 1450 case with foam is pretty solid.if you need to replace foam or want the trekpak dividers(like I did) then the price will go up. I got this on sale and bought the trekpak and it worked well for my needs. If you want this for stroage of you camera gear it will do nicely. For travel I say buy Pelican air as they are much lighter and are design for plane travel.

I have a lot of Pelican cases for a variety of purposes. The acquisition of the 1450s (I bought two of them) yet again confirms Pelican's stellar quality. The 1450 is built like a tank. It's stronger than needed for most conceivable uses - which is exactly why Pelican fans keep buying them - locks up tight and stays tight, is built to take HEAVY abuse while protecting its contents, and even has a comfortable handle. All at a reasonable price. Now how are you going to argue with that.By the way, "HEAVY" abuse doesn't mean dropping the thing. It means surviving 10 story drops, freeway falls including car impacts, bear assaults, etc. Yes, the latches are a little tight. I like them that way - it's part of the protection. While I have bought a Pelican case or two that was over or under-sized for my intended purpose, I have never returned one yet. All found a use, and I subsequently, happily bought one the right size. There are very, very few products I've purchased where I can say *that*!

I have two of these Pelican 1450 cases -- one for firearms and one for my DSLR camera gear. This is an outstanding case for either purpose. For camera gear, the foam inserts are removable in little cubic square increments, making it very easy to configure the case to hold camera, lenses, flash, and other accessories. For pistols and revolvers most users will leave the foam inserts intact, as the case holds pretty much any handgun snugly, with just the right amount of pressure, without modification. I can pack a couple of pistols and some clips no problem. If all of that is not enough, I also use one of these for transporting portable amateur radio gear. It is perfect for this. For any purpose, firearms, radio gear, or camera gear, this case provides a secure and lockable way to transport one's equipment without worry of physical shock to the equipment, or problems with water or humidity. These cases are watertight and very safe against the elements. This is important to me, as I often transport my camera gear in an open dinghy in coves and harbors, where the wind is apt to spray water on everything. This case has been 100% proof against this. Firearms don't like water or moisture either, making this case an ideal solution for transporting one's firearms.Replacement foam inserts are readily available for this case, by the way, so one case can serve multiple functions.A quality Made-in-USA product. Highly recommended. RJB.

I have been using various sized Pelican cases for well over 10+ years and simply put they are built like tanks. I have traveled extensively with many of my cases and as anyone who flies a lot knows, there is no abuse like airline abuse. The outside of the cases get scuffed up but the cases remain in perfect working order. There are not many cases that can survive years of abuse at the hands of the airlines. My only complaint with pelican cases is in regards to the latches. The design requires a lot of effort to open the latches up and I have banged my knuckles many times opening them up. The good news is that this issue has been addressed with the new pelican cases as they have redesigned the latches making them far easier to open up. So this is no longer even an issue. You can purchase Pelican cases either with or without the foam insert. I prefer the cases with the foam as the foam is very easy to cut out thus making it extremely easy to design the interior any way you like. Basically you can use these case to store any of your sensitive equipment. To keep humidity out of the cases simply buy a small silica gel container. I recommend using the Peli Desiccant Silica Gel containers and you can find them right here on Amazon.Bottom line - Pelican cases are hands down some of the best cases being made today. The only other case I have personally used that can match the quality of a pelican case is a Hardig Storm case and those are more expensive so for the money, Pelican cases are definitely the brand to turn to. They are tough as nails and will protect your gear as well as any other case on the market.5 Stars!!
