I needed some replacement foam because I was missing a piece when I switched out uses for the case I needed some foam I was missing. So this replacement foam was perfect.

Overall, the quality of the set is pretty good. Minor complaints: middle pluck foam layer has slightly rounded corners, while base and egg crate top layers have sharp corners. Also, base is 1/2 of an inch shorter than the pluck foam. Although, my biggest complaint here (and the reason why I chose to return the purchase) is about misleading product dimensions.General dimensions are:Length: 10 and 3/4 of an inchWidth: 6 and 1/8 of an inchThickness: 3 inches,Where base layer is 1/2 of an inch, pluck foam is 1 and 1/2 of an inch and egg crate top is 1 inch.

I needed to reconfigure my carrying case for a newer firearm so I got a new set of foam. This is identical to the original foam. It's just what I needed. And better than buying a whole new case, which I did not need. Perfect.

Same as the case comes with.A word of warning, and the reason that I ordered a new set of foam. I thought using spray on plasti-dip would provide a smooth surface to the foam and allow me to remove the accessories easier. It doesn't and the plasti-dip/foam decomposes and sticks to the surface of the things that you put in the case. I did allow the plasti-dip to dry, but apparently the chemicals in the foam and plasti-dip are not 100% compatible so it's just a mess. The residue that adheres to what is stored is easy enough to remove with a damp paper towel and a little rubbing, but it certainly does not make things easier.

I decided to re-purpose my Pelican model 1170 case to house my GoPro camera and accessories. The case had come with the "Pick n Pluck" foam and was shaped for my 1911 handgun. Amazingly enough the GoPro is not of the same dimensions. A quick search on Amazon led me to this product. The fit was perfect and was nearly identical to the original. I say nearly because the egg carton foam that sits under the lid, for whatever reason, had 90° corners instead of the contoured corners of the original. Who knows, maybe it will shape to the corner over time. Either way it was not a big deal since the original foam is still perfect.

EDIT: After speaking with Amazon and explaining my situation, they send me the new product with 2 day shipping. IT was the perfect size and works very well. This is exactly what was needed.I received the new foam today and was going to install it into the Pelican 1170 Case and start the process of shaping it for my GoPro Cameras. However, it's about 2.5" short in length and 1" too long in width. It was obviously not designed for the Pelican 1170.I may have received the wrong foam and if that is the case, I will edit this review in the future.
