I purchased this Pearl 16" inch marching bass drum to convert to a kick drum. On the batter side is a Gibraltar SC-BDPM Bass Drum Platform (2" inch lift) and I replaced the logo head with a Aquarian SKII16 vented Super Kick II.As pictured, I installed kick drum spurs and MacGyver'ed a tom mount solution to not have the toms positioned so close to the player. I cut a 4" inch port on the resonant side and there's a pillow cover containing shredded memory foam inside for mild dampening. It sounds fantastic, in my humble opinion. I'll likely remove the white wrap and either stain the wood or apply the same contact paper I used to match the toms when I recovered them.
