Requires 2 people to put on 🐶. The opening is so narrow and tight.

WAy too tight around the wrists; couldn't even get them on and way to big around the paws. Threw them out.

Yes, these are basically just a small balloon with thicker material, and yes, they look pretty stupid on my dog's feet. They're also a minor struggle to put on every time (especially if you don't have a second person to help), and my dog whimpers pathetically and doesn't cooperate at all with the enbootening process. I'm frankly not sure I would be willing to deal with this struggle if I had to do it for 3 walks/day more than the 5-10 days a year we usually have snow on the ground here. However, despite those drawbacks, these are the only booties I've found really work for us. Every dog boot I tried that had more of a structured sole and was shaped more like a human shoe negatively affected her gait - she would never stop walking funny with them on, even after multiple blocks, she would frequently stumble from the front edge of the sole catching on the ground because she wasn't used to lifting her paws high enough to accommodate a 1/4ā€ of solid material below her toes, and most of the ones we tried wouldn't stay on her tiny feet anyway, even if she had been better able to acclimate to them. These booties work *because* they're so basic in design. Once they're on, she no longer seems to notice or mind them and she walks and runs normally from the first step. I believe this is because she can still feel the ground through the rubber the same way she would with bare paws, the material doesn't require her to lift her feet significantly higher to keep the booties from scraping the pavement between steps, and her paws have complete freedom to flex when walking on uneven surfaces, or stepping on small things like twigs and seed pods, as they do when bare.Basically, she feels more or less like she's still walking barefoot the way she's used to, but I don't have to worry about de-icer/salt cutting or burning her paws, and when we get home and take them off, her feet are warm and dry.Others have already flagged in reviews that the fit is very snug - in her case, it's not so tight that I worry about them for short walks, but I would be very hesitant to keep her in them for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. She's a 10# JackChi, and the difference in circumference between too loose, just right, and too tight is a matter of millimeters with a dog that size, so it was probably somewhat luck that the XS fell near the sweet spot for her rather than her ideal circumference happening to fall between two sizes.

After many other purchases of dog boots with elastics, velcro etc-few stayed intact on my lab retriever pas. We would often return home with only 1 or2 still on and would find them days later in the snow along whatever street we took if Lucky. These are the only boots that remained on each and every time. Money well sent! It does take a little more than a minute to put them on but, once we are outside her face of gratitude with no salt burns or discomort such as limping when her pads are affected by the salut speaks volumes. I am so happy for we can go further and deeper into snow trails, hikes etc and know she is well taken care of. Black goes well with all of her winter coats, parkas and sweaters-they in many colors-she just always order the Black.

We have been using these boots on our Maltese since she was 4 months old. She is now 15 years old. They stay on well, and protect her feet from salt, impacted snow in winter and puddles during rainy times. Most importantly, these boots don’t contort her feet & ankles into unnatural positions that would be painful or cause her to walk with a ā€œFrankensteinā€ gait. She can walk normally & easily and can feel the ground underneath her paws, yet be protected. It is a bit tricky to stretch the opening with your fingers while inserting their paws inside, but once you get the hang of it, it isn’t that hard. It is helpful that I have a small dog that is willing to sit upright on my lap like a human. You can measure your dog’s paw on the back of the package with breed suggestions on the back help select the correct size. I must mention that my Maltese is a size X-Small not XX-Small as suggested so measuring is important. Each package contains 12 boots, enough for 3 sets. Even though they say they are disposable, we get a minimum of a month or more of daily wearings. Ordering from Amazon is actually ordering directly from the company. Price here is more reasonable compared to buying from the retail pet store. Shipping is free & fast.
