This works well and the battery part is great for on the go. My husband got this and I had got another one for myself. He uses his for his bait, I use mine for my plants that I propagate.

So, I am actually running this off of a small 12v battery using a 12v to 3.3v buck converter - it's doing great! To convert, I bought a buck converter, clipped the battery wires, and soldered the converter inline from the pump to the 12v battery. My intended use-case for this pump is to reduce ice in animal water troughs (15-30gal) over the winter. I bought an extended tube and can have the pump+battery sitting outside the animal fence, bubbling the water for my sheep. It's working pretty well and has been running constantly for almost 3 weeks at this point. It doesn't keep water from freezing completely, but the water that IS frozen is much easier to break since it took longer to get there. Works great!

If you have too many items "plugged in" electrical outlets, this is a good option, as it is battery operated. 2 D batteries. I like this item, but it is super loud.

This air pump is LOUD! Now, granted, I'm using it indoors as a way to temporarily put air into a small aquarium, but it's loud enough that I can't carry on a hushed conversation. I actually had to speak up during a phone call as well. It puts out a good amount of air, but is not adjustable at all. So, I think it's a good item to use in a pinch, or outdoors if you're just out fishing, etc., but I wouldn't recommend it to be something you plan to use often for an aquarium.

I've been running this for about two weeks now. It's much quieter than an electric air pump, which is what I was hoping for. I'm turning it off at night to conserve battery and so far it's still going strong.

Works great! Pump is nice and strong and lasts a long time with fresh batteries. Easy to unscrew and open back for battery replacement. FYI, the air stone and tubing comes packaged inside the unit in case you open up the box and wonder where they are. Overall, good price and function!

I recently, accidentally, became a fish breeder. My fish will not stop having babies and I’ve come to love raising them! But my angelfish have babies very frequently and apparently I’m not the only one in the area- I found a shop willing to buy them, but they are an hour away. This keeps my mind at ease while transporting the juvenile fish to the pet shop. Very easy to use. I also like having it as a backup in case there’s a power outage. It’s long lasting- for as long as many batteries you have at home. Don’t have to worry about charging it. Great product!

This pump delivers a fair amount of air, about what a standard low end aquarium pump does, and it does it via battery power—two D batteries to be precise. It even comes with a short length of air tubing and an air stone. The build quality is pretty basic. There are, for instance, no sound absorbing feet to keep the pump from vibrating whatever it’s on. Like some other reviewers I can confirm this thing is loud. Of course, since it’s battery operated I think we can divine that it wasn’t designed for a typical fish hobbyist to aerate their aquarium, but for someone transporting live fish, so making it bedroom or living room quiet wouldn’t have been a priority. It is what it is. If they’d added some sound absorption and an external power supply option it would have been a jack of all trades, but that wasn’t the design intent. I won’t tell you the build quality is extraordinary because it isn’t. It was clearly built to a price point. For instance, the batteries stretch the case when they’re inserted. Also, the air output doesn’t really work with standard vinyl aquarium tubing—it’s too big, but the included tubing is soft rubber and does stretch to fit that larger than normal output. Despite its shortcomings it works. I ran the thing for five hours on one set of batteries and it was pushing as much air at the end (as near as I could tell) as it was at the beginning. Is it extraordinary? No. But if you’re looking for a basic aquarium air pump, and you need battery power, consider this one. Figuring out how many stars to give it was difficult. I was kind of leaning towards three, but I’ll give it four because I can’t take anything off for what it’s not, and despite its basic construction it worked flawlessly for me.
