About this item

  • Effective Filtration: ID: 4.3"; OD: 5.7"; Depth: 2.5". Include 2 specialized brine shrimp nets – the 80-mesh one filters out eggshells and debris; the 200-mesh one collects freshly hatched shrimp. Always ensure clean, ready-to-feed live food for your fish
  • Fine Nylon Mesh: The well-stitched net is made of soft but strong nylon. Reliably maintain filtering efficiency through repeated use. Dense, needle-sized holes effectively catch any tiny nauplii. The finer the holes, the whiter the net
  • Reliable PP Material: Featuring a sturdy rim and handle made from PP, the brine shrimp sieve withstands regular use without deformation or cracking. And the concave edges of the handle offer a comfortable, secure grip all the time
  • Practical Accessories: Come with 2 marked pipettes for easy shrimp transfer or precise food dispensing. And the 5 storage tubes keep hatchlings organized and secure until feeding time. Complete set for live food management
  • For Optimal Sifting: Hatch within 24 hours for best separation results. Over- or under-hatching will reduce the filtration performance. Avoid high water pressure during rinsing to prevent shrimp damage or loss

Good for my brine shrimp collecting. These are a bit larger than expected. Just a tip: Mark the net size (80 or 200,) when you open the package right away, on the net handle. They can easily get mixed up!

Baby brine shrimps net separator system can be used for a wide variety of fishy purposes. I've come to find you need to harvest your BBS QUICKLY or they will grow too fast and not fit through the larger hole net. If you run under high flow water for a while you can force them through, but you will also wind up with a lot of ditritus which defeats the whole purpose. Harvest the very day you see babies and it should be okay. I also use this to filter out ditritus from otherwise clean water, sometimes this happens when replacing filter floss and such. In this way, it is a highly versitile tool.

It takes quite a few rinses before the shrimp are separated from the shells and other debris. The storage tubes are nice to keep the shrimp in, for future use when kept in the refrigerator. The pipettes work well when feeding the shrimp to the fish. Highly recommended if you plan to raise your own fresh brine shrimp to feed your fish.

Bottom line - would not recommendOrdered this in hopes of streamlining my collection process of brine shrimp. When it's time to collect the newly hatched brine shrimp in my current setup, I turn of my airstone, shine a flashlight next to the container and wait for most of the shrimp to collect by the light, then suction them out. Not only is this time consuming, but always leaves plenty of hatchlings behind. With this system, I was hoping to just pour the container through the two nets, with 80 mesh above the 200. Then after rinsing have the baby brine shrimp separated from the egg shells. This would have been great if it worked. Unfortunately, the few times I have used these, the shrimp and eggshells all stay in the 80 mesh net and nothing separates to the 200 mesh net. As such, I cannot recommend as it has not worked at all. With regards to this package, the two nets are decent quality plastic and there are also two pipettes and 5 storage tubes. The nets are not labeled...so the first thing I did was take a sharpie and mark the handles to make sure I didn't accidentally switch them. After use they cleaned up easily. The pipette and tubes are handy for collection and to store/carry brine shrimp to my aquariums for feedings. Despite the nets not working for me, I will continue to use these. Before writing the review, I did reach out to the seller to see if they had any 'tips or tricks' to get these to work. While they did apologize, unfortunately they could not help The response I recieved is : "We are extremely sorry to hear your experience and thank you for bringing this to our attention. The 80-mesh one filters out eggshells and debris. And the 200-mesh one collects freshly hatched shrimp. We'll improved on this later. It is very kind of your to take the time to share your suggestions. Thank you so much. And so sorry again for any inconvenience caused".

Works well but definitely label the nets when you first take them out of the wrappers. They are very difficult to tell which is which afterwards and there are no labels on them. Easily separated it the egg casings from the napulii.
