At first I wasn't sure cuz I was used to using just a comb for our hair so it was very light. When I got this one it was pretty heavy and at forst my hand got very tired quickly but I kept using it. Now I can use it for hours and it doesn't bother me at all. I haven't gone back to the other comb since
