If you’re like me, you came here because you saw a YouTube video on upgrading your push reel mower. I too decided to do this and it’s worked out great thus far. The quality of it compared to the plastic one the reel mower comes with is a major upgrade. It’s easy to install with no tools needed and it doesn’t make the reel mower weigh much more than it already did. If you roll over your grass multiple times it does give some striping, but I mainly wanted it for the extra stability it provides going over my not so level lawn.

I replaced my sod with a slow growing and very dense variety. It has to be cut with a reel mower. I bought the Earthwise 16 inch 7 blade mower. It is a good product but the included roller is pretty cheap. So I bought this roller and replaced the plastic one. It was easy to do and the mower seems better. It does lay down some stripes. It certainly added some weight to it. I think it made it a more solid and substantial unit. Reel mowing isn’t much harder than pushing a non self propelled gas mower. It does the job. It is pretty easy to maneuver around. The new roller didn’t change that.

This roller was a perfect replacement over the plastic roller that came with my Earthwise 16” 7 blade reel mower. Easy swap out with no issues and the weight helped a lot with the bouncing when going lower. Highly recommend.
