Product Description

"Roll it to the limit for the ultimate win with the Yahtzee Classic game. With a sleek shaker and 5 dice, you're ready to roll! Take turns rolling dice to try to score combos. You get a total of 13 turns and may roll up to three times on a turn. At the end of each turn, you must fill in one empty box in your column on the score card. The player with the highest grand total at the end of all 13 rounds wins. It's up to the player whether they hustle for a full house or risk it all for a Yahtzee roll. Show it off, and let the dice fall where they may. Game includes 5 dice and shaker that doubles as storage for easy clean up and travel. Yahtzee is a trademark of Hasbro."

Anyone who's ever done it knows the indescribable feeling--getting Yahtzee in one roll! Of course, this five-of-a-kind phenomenon only happens once in a blue moon. The rest of the time, players must be content with a three-roll full house, large or small straight, or any other combination of five dice. In this seductive game of luck and strategy, players have three tries each turn to roll dice in hopes of obtaining the elusive Yahtzee--or racking up points in one of the 12 other scoring categories. For a real challenge, go for a bonus Yahtzee--two or more in one game! This parlor classic has captivated and vexed players, young and old, since 1956. Game includes five dice, dice cup, 10 bonus chips, score pad, and instructions (English and Spanish). For one or more players. --Emilie Coulter

Not much to say, this is really a wonderful dice game. The profit margins must be amazing (5 dice, a pad of paper), but it doesn't matter. I loved playing this my family when I was a kid, and now I love playing this with my kids.Great game.

This game is perfect for a family night in or games night with friends! It can get highly competitive though so be prepared for all out war within the last few rounds! It is mostly down to luck however strategical thinking is also involved! Great for working on the mathematics still (if only the basics) and would definitely recommend to anyone needing a family friendly game to play (with adults or children).

My family has designated Sunday night as family game night and I purchased Yahtzee at a very good price off of a deal of the day. I had not played in years and forgot how fun this game is. In addition to playing the game, I let my children (6 and 8) keep score. I think this helps and gives them a practical application for the Math they are learning in school and teaches them how to strategize.. WE HAVE A BLAST..... and oftentimes end up with multiple days a week as "Family Game Night".

I bought this "add-on" simply for the colors. The dice really look cool, to me. I bought the limit allowed, so I could give as gifts. Everyone loved the new style, it makes playing the game even better. The score sheets even have a little style. The sheets are a tad bit smaller over all, and the print is definitely smaller, so glasses may be required. The "older version" of the score sheet, had the back-side printed for player game totals,(which we never used). This newer version, is only printed on one side, so it leaves room on the back for doodles, or adding your scores. The little black and red drawer, is simply for storing the dice. However, if needed, you could use the black cup portion as a shaker. (We just shake the dice in our hands, which is MUCH quieter.) :-)Very happy with this purchase, and giving it as a gift, made others happy as well.

Several of my family members (both young and old) love board games. One of our favorites is Yahtzee. It is entertaining (educational for the younger set) and adds to family fun night. I bought this set because I couldn't resist the shape and colors of the new dice! The shape is unique and the colors are red and black with white dots. Feels like we are playing a new game! Love this new edition of Yahtzee!

I am not a kid anymore, but I still love Yahtzee. There isn't even a kid in our house and we now own it.Game is simply rolling die to try to get numbers in a row, or matching numbers. Five of the same number is a Yahtzee. You get up to three rolls each turn. That is about all you need to know, there isn't really any instruction reading need for it. There is some strategy to it, but everyone develops there own and anyone can get lucky and win. We also tend to make house rule for if a die rolls off the table or something like that.Best enjoyed with a good beer or wine, unless of course you are a child.

There are actually people out there who haven't played YAHTZEE? In the USA? It's almost hard to believe because this is such a classic in my family. I think this is our third set. Eventually the game does get a little shabby and it is nice to have a new one. It's pretty simple -- 5 regular dice, a cup to shake them up in, a pencil, and score pads. Score pads can be purchased separately. The idea is to get the highest score by filling in points on the scoresheet -- one box each turn -- in categories like Full House, Small Straight, Three of a Kind. Sounds like Poker or some other card game? It is a lot like that. We've been playing it since the kids were little and now they are well into adulthood. It can be educational if you take the time to talk to your kids about the odds of getting a particular set of dice and how to decide which dice to re-roll. Not a lecture, please -- just a comment now and then!

If you haven't played Yahtzee before, where have you been?? I remember playing this while growing up and still love it to this day. It is a game that anyone can play and great for family and friends. I picked it up recently, because we had lost ours in a move and the kids kept asking for it again. We enjoy playing it on weekends or evenings instead of flipping through the channels on the TV. It's also nice that there is no limit to how many people can play. A TRUE CLASSIC of a game that it a must for your collection.

I played Yahtzee as a kid with my Dad and had forgotten how much fun it was. While looking for some non-electronic games to play with my kids, I stumbled across Yahtzee and instantly remembered the good times. Introducing the game to the family tonight, I was hoping that they would enjoy it as much as I had years ago. They did not dissapoint me and after playing several games they all complimented me on the choice. Another reviewer called Yahtzee "quietly educational", and I completely agree with that term. My oldest, who since his school started letting him use a calculator in algebra and geometry has lost the ability to do math in his head, suddenly rediscovered his math skills when his score was on the line. The only thing Milton Bradley did wrong with this game was being cheap on the size of the pad of score sheets they include. Other than that, this is a classic game that has not lost anything over the years. Turn off the television or computer and play this game with people you love.
