it's fine but needs to be split to install on an existing system. much better than the white covered crap that came with my Mitsubishi mini split.

its not as thick as you get at say, home depot.. saying that is was alot cheaper than home depot.. and is working... no blown pipes..!

Picked up 7 packages of 1-inch to wrap a temporary main line. Discovered after opening that this insulation doesn't have a pre-made break to get it around the pipe. That leaves a choice of cutting your own break or disconnecting an end of the pipe and sliding sections onto it. I realize most people won't have this big of a project, but am also pretty confident that most people buy insulation to wrap pipes that are already connected. So putting this out there as a caution to DIY buyers.

The tube of foam is not open. So you have to cut it by yourself and ni double face tape to close it.Very disappointing

These are thinner than I thought, but still alright for insulation. There are pictures of these on handlebars for gym equipment, I feel like that may be a better fit for them.If you want to put it on an outdoor pipe, you have to cut them down the side as they're not already cut

It feels like a good quality insulation foam - it's highly elastic, compressible and is reasonably resistant to tears. The texture and feel is like soft neoprene and retains heat fairly well. I used this insulation to wrap 1/2 inch copper water pipes(with an 0.6 inch OD, which is typical in US residential plumbing) in my patio, but I ordered the 3/4th inch size because it leaves a little extra room for the heat trace cable that's also installed around the pipes.One major issue(or benefit depending on your application) is that it's not precut with a slit down the middle - this is good if you have the ability to open one end of pipe and slide the insulation tube on through the open end. Otherwise you have to cut the foam tube in half length wise with some scissors or a utility knife to slip it over an existing pipe.Another note is that even though this is pipe insulation, it won't prevent your pipes from freezing over a long cold freeze - it only helps to retain heat. To be 100% safe in protecting your pipes from freezing, this needs to be used with a heating cable or have some flowing water going through the pipe. It's not a silver bullet, it needs to be used with another method of freeze prevention.
