I have bought this baby monitor twice now. So I am the idiot. The first time the monitor kind of fell apart after 2 years. So if you’re looking for something that lasts, this is not it.I bought this monitor again last year after my second child because I already had a camera from my first purchase and thought 2 would be useful. I thought maybe I was not gentle enough with the first one. I was wrong, it’s actually the monitor that is terrible quality. I had come to expect a lot more from the Panasonic brand. While the range on this thing may be great and the features are fine. My monitor has once again stopped working. This time it is in one piece and handled with great care, kept out of the hands of my children. But it’s such poor quality the connection point for the adaptor becomes loose and not well fitting after a while. I have seen this problem on really cheap USB powered kids night lights. Not what I would expect on a device that you are relying on to monitor your baby. I now all of a sudden have a malfunctioning monitor that won’t even power up and get a bright white screen of death.Just buy something else.

I purchased this monitor for our huge house (5,600 sq ft) 5 years ago and it's working like a charm. I've started having issues with battery so I purchased a new one but most likely just battery replacement would work. 5 years ago I went through probably six different monitors since I need it to connect bedrooms on to opposite sides of the house and this one was the only one that worked perfect when it comes to picture and sound as well as talkability.

It is so easy to use and set up. I do wish I would have got a cordless set up, but this works really well! Picks up any movement or sounds. Picture quality is a 7/10.

First, the main reason I bought this was for the long range claim. I even returned two previous cameras I bought bc they weren't long range. We do have a longer house but this monitor doesn't cover anymore ground then the first 2 I bought so don't buy it if you think it'll be any better distance wise. I even called Panasonic to get some guidance and they just said to put the antenna up which seems like a joke.Second, I NEVER write reviews, but I'm writing this review one year and a half after I bought it bc I have had issues from the start and wanted to help others not make the same mistake. It started out fine, but a few months in the screen started to say "charging error" and it would reboot itself and annoyingly light up the screen in the middle of the night several times. As a new, full time working mom I never had time to go through the motions to get it fixed and it was more of an annoyance thing so I always tried to remember to flip it face down. The real issue started when I noticed the camera would sometimes shut off or say it couldn't connect to the camera even when I was one room away. When I was pregnant with my second child, I figured it would be cheaper to keep the camera and just buy a second camera; as opposed to buying a new screen and two cameras. So now I've invested way too much money and it's worthless bc the screen is totally blank as you can see from the picture. Don't waste your money. The picture isn't even that clear. Better cameras are out there.

My favorite things about this camera that I use for my grandbabies:1. Panasonic’s baby monitor is long-range with a long-life battery2. It provides the user with zero interruptions/alerts on your phone, because it has its own monitor, as opposed to a monitor that links to a mobile device.3. Operates on its own frequency, so no one can tap into the Baby Monitor via WiFi.4. The monitor provides great video quality and top-of-the-line features, such as Smart Sensors for motion and temperature.5. The fact that it’s portable to bring to my house from my daughters or sons house.6. It gives me confidence that my grandbabies are safe while I’m baking sourdough bread or working in my home officeThe Panasonic Baby Monitor helps to create the ideal balance because it is a dedicated, secure, long-range system that tells you what you need to know when you need to know it. I highly recommend this monitor for parents and grandparents alike

Good quality overall. Nice to be able to remotely move the camera, define squares within the frame for monitoring and set different triggers. The build quality is good and solid for what it is.The lullabies are useful though still loud at the lowest volume and anything above the second volume sounds really bad. The speaker is probably the biggest weakness, but I think the other features make up for this.As this is the American version you'll need a plug adapter for Australian outlets. Shame there's no Australian version.

We purchased this item 18 months ago. We have it mounted on the wall, which makes the viewing angle.. special, for the most part, but doable. The pan and tilt is a nice function but does leave a blind spot if you are trying to mount it above the bed. We just pulled the crib away from the wall a few inches and all was fine. We are now running into issues with it "charging" and sometimes it says there is an error. When you unplug it, it shuts off but turns back on when the charger is reconnected. Not a dealbreaker. Battery life is meh, especially at this point. It only lasts a few hours with no movement if it's not charging - but then again, I have a toddler now so it's really a moot point. We don't need the monitor all day long for a gazillion naps a day anymore. The zoom is okay, I rarely use it since we have it mounted above the bed. Motion detection and noise alerts are adjustable and work well, there is a constant volume on it if you have a noise machine going. To get it to stay quiet, you'll need to shut the volume off which may or may not work for some people but the screen lights up when there is movement or noise above the set threshold. The "extended" range is a joke. I'm sure it works better than others but by no means is this gonna get you very far. I can usually go outside and about 4 houses down (very close houses) before I start having issues. The main point of this "long range" was really to be able to walk to our bus stop and pick up the other kid if one was napping, it doesn't work. So I basically facetime an ipad and set up a stream from there to make sure everything is okay from my phone since they're secure in their crib. It works all the way through the house and into the yard so there's that, but we have a very small lot so if you have some land - you may not get the same mileage. Overall, not a bad purchase it has absolutely done it's job for this long and I'm not upset with this purchase. It definitely stretched the distance further than our first one that was a knock off video monitor. I prefer this one over that for sure but did wish it had a bit more range. Oh, but the temperature monitor is absolutely not accurate. We have a thermostat dot in the room after the monitor kept telling us it was 86 in there (it wasn't).
