This rolled ice cream maker is pretty simple to use. I've used it a few times. The results aren't spectacular the but the concept is neat. First thing I recommend is cleaning it then putting it in the freezer upside down for at least 12 hours. I took some Greek yogurt and added some raisins to it. It covered the sheet pretty thick which may have been the issue as to why I couldn't get it to roll up... only collect in a pile. It did freeze the bottom part of the yogurt. And when I scraped it, the frozen part collected in a pile. Just couldn't get it to roll up. Still tasted good though!

I have always wanted to try making rolled ice cream so I got this small pan to try it out. I was really pleased at how well it worked. It's extremely easy to use and clean. I definitely haven't quite perfected making perfect rolls yet, but this pan definitely makes perfect ice cream for rolling. I found out quickly that being careful to not pour too much on at once was the key to quicker freezing and better consistency for rolling. It still works to freeze a thicker amount into an ice cream consistency, but less was best in my experience. This pan is great quality. It's perfect for anyone who wants to try making rolled ice cream. I think it would make an excellent gift, especially for kids that enjoy fun activities that include making food. I would definitely need a bigger pan if I was planning to make some ice cream to share with multiple people, but this pan works great for personal use. I think the retail ($25) is a fair price. I really like this pan and enjoy using it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try their hand at making their own rolled ice cream.

The rolled ice cream maker arrived very fast and blemish/damage free.Because we liked this so much, I've actually ordered a 2nd one now (and will be getting a third: so I have one for each of my children with their name on the spot where the label is on the back, as their own name labels from some extra black food storage labels I have, with white marker).Instructions: pop this in the freezer for 12 hours (we just wait overnight). You should use a heavy cream or yogurt of some kind for it to set properly...something thicker/creamier than a regular coconut milk can or plain plant milk, like coconut cream instead.Since we're Vegan (well, my son and I: daughters are vegetarian) we used a Thai Kitchen Coconut milk can: which, disclaimer, is not a heavy cream, lol.It came out with the consistency of harder than frozen yogurt, slightly less hard than traditional frozen ice cream and it did melt fairly quickly (wasn't able to roll it but cut it because of this), since we were too eager to wait for going to the store the next day, and wanted to use the coconut milk can we had on hand. Here is our first recipe - chocolate walnut - and it still turned out tasting divine (again: recommend using a heavy cream like coconut cream or cashew in place of a coconut milk can, so I put the correct one in the recipe):In the blender, blend on "ice cream" setting:-1 can coconut cream-2/3 cup cacao powder-dash of salt-1-2 tspns vanilla extract-few squeezes of lemon juice-1/3 cup of crushed, soaked walnuts-2/3-3/4 cup of sugar or sugar substitute, to taste (we used a combo of monk fruit extract, white table sugar and some 100% maple syrup that added up to about 2/3 cup)And that's it! :) After pouring it on (about 1/2 inch thick), one should place it back in the freezer for at least 12-15 minutes. And it's ready to cut! Each kid enjoyed 1/3 of each pan, and then I was able to do 2 more batches from the same blended ingredients w/o having to go through the long refreeze process (just the 12-15 minutes each). They ate it all with gusto, and loved it!The girls are looking forward to having their own, so they can make their own recipes.I love how this teaches independence, autonomy, creativity, cuisine and life skills. It can be healthy depending on the sugar type used......and it's great to not have high fructose corn syrup or tons of sugar, which is often broken into 3 or more different kinds from the brands at the grocery store, in order to mask how much sugar there actually is.My daughter saw it freezing again and wanted to know when we would make more ice cream, and asked for more.I know it will be even more fabulous and harder than I mentioned with the fattier cream. For an adult, I would say one pan = one nice large bowl size. I honestly like this as much if not actually more than the giant home ice cream makers where you freeze the drum, because the initial freeze time + 2nd freeze time for this is WAY faster (compare 12 hrs initial freeze + 12-15 minutes for this, vs. 24 hours for a drum to freeze plus 40 minutes churning). There's no churners to clean, it's not that heavy (though the rolled ice cream sheet pan has a good weight: you can feel the additional material inside of the pan) and it takes up much less space in the freezer than the drum, and yet yields a decent amount. If on the fence, you should go for it! It brings us joy and I'm betting it will for many others as well.

I recently used the rolled ice cream maker and found it to be quite impressive. The ice cream maker is well-sized, producing enough rolled ice cream for two servings. It includes a stainless steel and hard plastic base containing liquid, two small plastic spatulas, and an instruction manual. An added bonus is its ability to make smoothie rolls. The instructions recommend running the metal tray under warm water, drying it completely, and then placing it upside down on a flat surface in the freezer. Although the included pamphlet lacked recipes, which would have been a nice addition, I found a suitable recipe through online resources. Here’s the recipe that worked well for us:1 cup of heavy cream1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milkMix-ins of your choice (e.g., mint Oreos in our case)To make the rolled ice cream:1. Mix the liquids quickly onto the tray.2. Add chopped-up cookies.3. Spread the mixture out and let it sit for about 5 minutes.4. Use the spatula to create the rolls by scraping from the bottom up.Overall, this rolled ice cream maker is a fantastic tool for creating delicious and fun desserts at home. Its versatility, ease of use, and ability to produce delightful, rolled ice cream and smoothie rolls make it a great addition to any kitchen. It’s unfortunate that the instruction manual doesn’t include recipes, but with a bit of research, you can easily find and try various recipes to enjoy.
