I purchased this to have upstairs in my bedroom. I have a small table I keep my canned goods and other things, and a microwave. This works very well. Doesn't take up space as a full standard electric can opener would. It is easy to use, and makes a smooth cut all around, just lift off the top and you're done! Very good price point!

This was the first safety style can opener I’ve tried and it works great! I made the switch to this style because standard can openers kept failing on me with the cog wheels not fully connecting. This can opener cut the can smoothly around the outer edge and lifted the lid off easily.

It works as advertised. I love it. After opening the edges are smooth. The top can be replaced seamlessly.

This is the best can opener I have used. Super easy to use. No clamping down is easy on the hands. Cuts top off clean. Nice compact size takes up less drawer space. Highly recommended.

I was at the end of my rope, we had bought so many different cheap openers and they would work ok in the beginning but then break or not open cans. I bought this one thinking that it would do the same thing. Boy was I wrong! This has got to be, hands down the best can opener I have ever owned in my life! It is easy to operate, glides smoothly when turning and does not leave sharp edges. If you are looking for a manual can opener this is the one to get!

I got this after not one, but TWO occasions where someone in my household was sliced by the lid of a can in a garbage bag. I figured this would be a safer way to go, especially since recently adopting a cat who eats canned food like it's going out of style. The opener is very well made, very sturdy and no fuss trying to get it onto the can. Opens the can leaving smooth edges on both the lid and can. Since the lid has a little lip on it after opening, you can put the lid back on the can to store things in the fridge till you need it again. I can't say how long anything would stay fresh, but for feeding a pet from the same can over a day it's great! My ONLY issue with the opener is that it's a little hard to turn the lever. I have some trouble with my hands and wrists at times and it hurts to turn the lever without stopping to take a quick break. In that regard it might not be a good option for anyone with limited mobility or strength in their hands. Otherwise it's a great little gadget!! Makes the discarded lids MUCH safer for handling.

Cuts off the lid of the can from the outside edge. No mess.Turn handle back (anti clockwise) put the opener on top of the can then turn clockwise. The can will rotate as you turn the handle. After a 360° rotation the top of the can will just lift off with the opener.Very easy to use, good value.Waited more than one month for delivery?

I love this can opener. I even bought one as a gift for someone else. I'm not sure if this is common with these types of can openers, but it went bad after 4 years. I never thought it would happen because of the way it opens a can, but it no longer opens a can all the way (it skips portions) and it frays/splinters the metal which is dangerous. Maybe this is normal wear and tear? It was a surprise to me. Had to throw it out.

I got this after seeing a technology connections video about it and am comparing them to a heavy duty can opener of the more standard variety. Cutting along the side instead of the top is safer but the cutting wheel does falter occasionally and jump out of the groove, additional as it cuts side on and the lid can still be used as a lid, it can be hard to know when you're done so I recommend keeping track of where you start opening the can.

Unlike most can openers, this one works on a different principal. No sharp edges. We think it is a great design and works well.

I am fairly conservative and don't lightly abide "re-inventing the wheel." I definitely felt skeptical of any claim to re-inventing a freakin' can-opener. But I read about this can opener on a credible tech website, so I tried it. Everything the review said was true. I have owned it for over a year, and it is a better can opener! And it is interesting enough to get me to write a ditty about it.It is a bit off-putting at first because it does not have "arms" that clamp down onto the can like every other can opener I had used in my 56 years on Earth. (Electric or manual). Instead, you hold it up against the can, turn the knob once or twice, and the cutting disc and the support disc rotate into place and holds the can, itself, while cutting. It can do so because the cutting disc cuts sideways into the side of the can under the lid instead of cutting downward into the lid of the can. All the support disc needs to do is hold onto the top lip of the can outwards, with the cutting wheel pressing inwards sideways into the can.Once I fumbled with it the first two or three cans and learned how to do it, I've had no problems. Functionally, it works as seamlessly, easy, and quick as a normal can opener.First, as advertised, the cut edge always comes out smooth and safe, unlike the jagged edge produced by all can openers that cut down into the lid. No sharp edges at all. For that, alone, it is superior and worth it. Not a huge problem, but when you can avoid sharp pieces of metal, that's an improvement. The sharp metal becomes unnecessary.Second, because you cut the entire lid off instead of cut the lid into a circular piece, you can replace the lid back on the can to put the remainder of the can in the fridge: particularly useful for pet food. I bought some fancy little plastic lids to "re-seal" a half-used can of pet food, which prevents the food from drying out in the fridge while also preventing spills and aromas from pet food from stinking up the fridge. Those plastic lids are not necessary, now. The lid doesn't not "snap" on as tightly as the plastic lids, but they do a good enough job re-sealing it for the brief time the can sits in the fridge.Third, because it only has one handle instead of two handles that clamp together, it takes up much less space in the utensil drawer.Fourth, although you cannot "see" the cut progress and finish like standard can openers, you can feel a change in tension when the cutting disc completes its turn around the can. Then you can just lift the lid off with the opener as a handle. The lid stays on the opener, the can stays on the counter. Or you can turn the knob the other direction to release the cutting wheel's tension, and just pull the lid off. (I prefer using the device to pull the lid off because that confirms it is done and doesn't need to be re-seated, yada, yada.) But the upshot is that you do not need to "dig" into the can with your finger or fingernail to pull the lid out from inside the can. Because it cuts the lid off, you just take the entire lid off.The one downside is that I used to use the circular piece of the lid that the standard can openers cut off to press down into cans of tuna fish and squeeze out the water. Because this opener cuts the entire lid off from underneath the lip, the lid will not go inside the can to serve as a press. A feature in one aspect is also a small drawback. But I don't eat much tuna fish, so that is not a huge problem. I just use the lid as a strainer (hold it on while water escapes through the crack) instead of a press.Still, it is smaller, safer, and better. Strange as it might sound, they did successfully re-invent the can-opener!
