These stoppers work as described. They allow the water to go out of the kayak so as not to accumulate and cause a big puddle in the boat. Well worth buying over rubber stoppers

The plug drains as long as there’s no water pressure under the plug. If there’s an air gap between the plug and water it will drain, but slowly.

Fit my kayak good, but just drains slowly. Even when completely stopped.

I intend to use these only in colder water temperatures and I will be dressed appropriately. Of course, I only need two for cold weather as scupper plugs can be a dangerous thing IMHO. You're gonna get wet in a kayak and if all your scuppers are plugged and you get suddenly tipped/swamped/flipped because the water has no place to go, you best be in a life vest and hope its not cold water. That said, even in cold weather you should only need a couple under your seat or not at all. Each kayak sits different and is loaded different so before getting these watch the unplugged scuppers under your seat work and see where your waterline is. If your sitting close to the waterline the floats will be forced up and water wont drain (defeats the purpose of self-drain). If you are moving then the waterline goes down and it should allow drainage. If they don't drain even when you are moving your kayak then it is carrying too much weight. If you are sitting high on the waterline then you probably can drain just sitting there as the floats are not being forced closed. If you are sitting way off the waterline then you likely don't need these and let your scuppers work. I would say these would serve a purpose on kayaks temporarily loaded down to max capacity and placed in under-the-seat scupper holes. I've read where guys have put them in every scupper hole in their kayak but I can not reason that thought out, but if you are going to put scupper plugs in every hole then these would be better than traditional plugs.Almost forgot; they work and fit very well on my kayak when installed.

I am doing this review based on a very popular kayak and it is for the fit only at this time. I haven't seen them in action yet, but I don't see why they wouldn't work. The small size fit perfectly in the front scuppers, where your feet are. My kayak is the Lifetime Tamarack 100 fishing kayak from Walmart.

These are always clogging with tiny bits of debris. Once they have clogged, they don't drain. Also, they don't really drain when on the water because the negative pressure under the kayak closes the valve so water doesn't drain out on my particular vessel

As mentioned in a previous review, I purchased these and the Medium size for my Ascend 2018 Ascend 10T. This size seems to fit better than the mediums. My process for securing them has been to push them in, then twist them to create the best seal. I only use them on the rear scupper holes so haven't been able to closely monitor how well they function, however, they do keep the water out pretty well. I'm assuming that once the kayak is in motion and water is able to flow over these scuppers will the self drain function work properly.
