The solid wood painting easel is decent for beginners and casual use. It has a nice built in storage drawer and comes with two palettes, which is convenient. It holds canvases up to 36 inches. However, the wood quality feels a bit cheap, and some parts required tightening or adjusting right out of the box. The drawer is also a little shallow. It gets the job done, but doesn’t feel as sturdy as I had hoped.

I just got this easel in so I can finally paint my paint by numbers without my cats sitting on top of my painting each time I attempt to work on it! It has been a painting saver for me personally so far. This is made up from solid wood, no particle board and no stickers. Which in turn makes this thing durable and sturdy. It’s a great size too you can literally fit most size canvases on it since it extends up above my head and I’m 5’8” and the base is about around my knee height. I like that the storage box to hold your pints is deep and provides ample space to store those bigger acrylic bottles. It looks cute too! I’ve never had an easel personally until this one but it looks like I would expect it to look. It’s not too fancy where you’d be upset with yourself for getting paint on it but it’s fancy enough to be strong. Now the assembly was not a walk in the park in my opinion. The reason I say that is they give you a pamphlet that has images with little words at all to explain the process. What annoyed me the most was one of the screws that is supposed to hold the long arm part “F” was defective. The part where you are supposed to put your screw driver to tighten it was covered in metal. I mean you could see where it was supposed to have the lines cut out in it for a Phillips screwdriver or a large flat head yet there was a metal blob filling it in so I could not get it to work unless I took it into my shop and used my mini drill to bore it out. That was frustrating to say the least and I hope I was the only one that happened to and it was a freak thing. Then the other issue was that the part that goes over the top of the part f again to hold the top of your painting in place snug was also made oddly and didn’t even look like the image. I was able to finally figure it out after a few goes at it but man. I had to take a star off for the inconveniences with the assembly. This could easily get a five star rating with better instructions and possible en a video link to watch someone else put it together would be ideal. It can get confusing so be prepared.Overall it’s a good value for what you get. I do recommend them but be sure to pay attention to the instructions and watch the part f it will work your patience if you let it!
