Covers the whole entire knee even some of the thigh, but if you have small feminine legs, this may not be for you. You can adjust it only so much but you can also tie it tighter. Very confront-able and can absorb impact if you are the clumsy type.

They are made to look like the Arc'teryx ones which are popular with active duty military and for good reason. These are very similar in many ways but are definitely not as good. The cushioning is of lesser quality (a softer, less durable foam) but is not terrible. But the most important issue is that they are not cupped enough for lack of a better word. The pocket where the knee sits needs to be deeper like a bowl in order for them to be comfortable and stay in place on your knees. Hope this helps!

I teach in the industrial setting outdoors on pavement. I have a coworker that has the much more expensive arc teryx knee pads. Honestly don't think the extra cost is worth it over these. They keep my knees protected from kneeling down on pavement just fine and they stay in place.
