I have installed these on our bikes and our golf cart, and they do as they are supposed to do. They flash when the tire moves and they stop soon after it stops, and they do not come on during the day.They are made of fairly thin plastic, so do not tighten them too much on your tire valve. The first thing is to open each and pull out the paper piece between the contact and the battery and put it back together. Then replace your valve cover with this item. It should stat flashing as soon as you touch the contact and battery. I am not sure how long the batteries will last, but they are just small batteries you can buy just about anywhere.
