They hydraulic piston on my gaming chair had pooped out. (I weigh 250 lbs so this happens a lot to my chairs.) Gave it some thought and ordered these in the size that would fit the piston shaft. Got the chair set where I wanted it, installed the collar and tightened it down. Now the chair is not adjustable, but it is at the right height and works fine.

I have used these in several places around the house. Here's an example. We have two bikes (Trek & Schwinn), one is for the road and the other is on a trainer system. The clamps can not keep the seats from settling over the long haul. I had to open up these in the lathe a bit, but now they do the weight support, and the other clamp keeps the seat stem from rotating. Perfect.All this is hard to explain in a few words; ....but bike owners will understand.

These are well built and hold on to the rails nicely. I use mine for a router sled and they keep the router from flying off the end. I highly recommend these for rail stops.
