They surpass expectations.

These packets are great for storing small and medium sized seeds. For larger seeds like beans and corn only about 6-8 seeds will fit.

Let me start by saying if I could give zero stars I would. Each and every packet has to be cut/torn open before they are able to be used. They are sealed (see photos). I thought maybe it was just a few defective ones. But the paper above the ziplock seal is stuck together on all of mine. I cut a few to see how far down they were sealed, and it’s almost all the way down to the zip seal. So you basically have to ruin it to be able to use it. They still function if you are using them for personal storage. But my intention was to package seeds to give as gifts, and obviously I can’t gift seed packets that had to be torn just to put the seeds in them.

In the packet. As any gardener knows, keeping seeds for next year's crop or what to do for leftover seeds becomes a never-ending battle. Seeds like to escape from the packet in a variety of ways, and oh my, if it gets too far from the packet and mixes, it is a surprise garden. The empty seed packet remains a well-thought-out design. You pour your excess seeds into the packet and label its name, variety, date collected, and growing note. It seals with a plastic zip closure. Flip it over. It has a see-through pane to watch the seeds as in still there, not sprouting, did not run off, or it was what I thought it was. The top of the seed pack has notches, so keep the seeds folded over for extra insurance, and the seeds are trapped in a labyrinth. Keep the seed packets far away from the water can when preparing for gardening. Also, the city library here has a seed library, and all are welcome to bring a pack and trade. I will likely have the most top-level trade packet- live in new city have to establish garden self. Portucula moss rose grew for the fall, and it does not take long for seed caps to form, so I can propagate that. Plus, if you use heirloom seeds, you have stellar packets to collect seeds to grow next year's vegetables and even create a system. Need a box.

I love these! See through window, plenty of writing area on both sides and RESEALABLE! No more seeds spilling out or having to make tiny double folds to keep it shut. Perfect!

I like the quality, but these envelopes are very small. I found the zipper top hard to open (because its so small). I don't want to ding them for this, as I probably should have paid attention to the description, and as I said, the quality of the envelope is good. Just wish they were a bit bigger.
