I ordered this handy inflatable belt for my daughter to use when we are at the lake and she wants to kayak or paddle board because the life jackets are pretty bulky and this would make it easier to paddle and row. Hopefully she won’t need it but if she does, it is comfortable and is made well with quality materials. I like that it can manually inflate, or use the CO2 cartridge. We have inflated it but haven’t tried the buoyancy because the water temperature here is currently 46. I suspect she will be fine as she only weighs 110 but if not, I will come back and update my review. All said, it seems to be a good buy in my opinion.

The Owntop Manual Inflatable Belt Pack with Blowpipe & Whistle comes preloaded with a 24g CO2 Cylinder. This is a perfect low profile lightweight lifesaver for kitesurfing. Whether you wear a seat harness of a waist harness, this is a small enough profile to wear. It works for water sports because it's not bulky like other life jackets. And unlike similar CO2 inflation jackets, this one is manual only versus automatically inflated jackets. If you get in a tough spot, pull the emergency handle and it will inflate and keep you safe.To be fair, I didn't test the inflation because I didn't want to waste the CO2 cartridge, but with the caveat I do recommend this for safety during kitesurfing or other water sports.

The only down side to this is that it doesn't have an auto-inflate system. One must manually either pull the activator or blow it up using the inflation tube. The CO2 inflator is quick and this thing provides plenty of bouancy even for a fat guy like me. We keep these on hand for when we want to take a swim in the ocean away from land. It provides the safety of a self rescue device without the cumbersome wearing of a jacket or vest. Once back on the boat though we revert back to our auto-inflating PFDs. As an inflatable swim pack it is a great option. Just don't substitute this for a normal PFD on a moving craft. BTW - I tested it and found the CO2 inflated it fully and quickly. Re-arming with a new CO2 and packing was far easier than I expected.

I love this inflatable belt for many reasons. First, it's comfortable to wear and nonobtrusive. I also like the fact that you manually inflate it, since most of the time, I'll be using it for my SUP, which I fall off of on occasion. Automatic inflation would not work for this purpose. The replaceable CO2 cartridge is another plus. I keep these on hand for a number of different applications, so I'll have one if I ever need one. While I haven't actually used the belt inflated, I do plan to test it this spring when the water warms up. It should work as advertised.
