An ovulation test (also sometimes called an OPK, which stands for ovulation predictor kit) is a test that detects the presence and concentration of luteinizing hormone (LH) in your urine. About 12 – 36 hours before ovulation, there is a brief surge in LH levels. (The length of time between the beginning of the LH surge and ovulation varies from woman to woman.) The LH surge sends a message to your ovaries that it’s time to release an egg: ovulation! When you get a positive ovulation test, it means that ovulation is likely imminent. Can ovulation kits help? How to read the result?Positive (LH Surge): If two color bands are visible, and the test band is equal to or darker than the control band, you will probably ovulate in the next 24-48 hours. If trying to get pregnant, the best time to have intercourse is after 24 but before 48 hours. Negative (No LH Surge): Only one color band appears on the control region, or the test band appears but is lighter than the control band. This means there is no LH surge. Invalid: No visible band at all. Repeat with a new test kit. If test still fails, please contact the distributor or the store where you bought the product, with the lot number. I recently tried these ovulation test strips and overall, it was a pretty good experience. They were easy to use, just dip them in the urine and wait for the results. The wait time is pretty quick, and I found that the results were fairly accurate, which gave me confidence in knowing when I'm most fertile. The instructions were straightforward, making it simple for anyone to figure out. On the downside, some strips might show faint lines that can be a bit confusing, especially if you're new to using these tests. Also, the packaging didn’t include a lot of extra supplies like cups, which would have been helpful. Seems to be working pretty accurately. I am using it probably for the opposite reason a lot of others are buying it for, so I say it seems because I haven't gotten pregnant! Great value for your money, very simple dip and read. My only complaint is that I have had two packets without test strips in them.

I’ve tried about 5 of these and they leave strange blank spots on the strip. I can’t tell if they are defective or unlike any other o strips I’ve used. I find them very difficult to read.

Update 11/03/22 - I’ve taken four of these tests now and noticed the third one had a very faint line but I wasn’t sure if it was just my eyes or if it was really there. Took a new one this morning and it was very clear that it was positive so I am ovulating which is great to know. This will help me to kind of keep track of my ovulation. So I’d say these work!I have PCOS and a twisted ovary. I also have two periods a month (not on any BC or anything) so not sure why. I use Flo to track my cycles (or attempt to). However, since my cycle is so bizarre - it has stopped tracking ovulation. Which I don’t even know if it was accurate so I got these to try to track ovulation - I took one yesterday and it was negative. I’ll continue to test and see if I get a positive. I would just like to know if I even ovulate. So, I’ll update if I get a positive ovulation test!

im glad i found reliable ovulation tests! they are strips so you do need your own disposable urine cup. best time of testing from my experience is 11am to 5pm during fertile week. if you don't know your cycle, might be best to also add in basal body thermometer temping and charting to the mix of the ovulation test strips, just to get a better idea of when to expect your period so you know when to start using these strips. there's 50 in the pack so it should last a while, 1-3 months at least.mine came extra sealed in some thick hard plastic wrapping. . didn't care too much for it, the box was still bent so it's not like it protected much. the tests inside are individually sealed. my box says it will expire december 09 2024. i received them october 13 2022. took one today and my result is confirmed to be a clear or "blazing" positive. i also pair using these with clearblue advanced digital ovulation tests with the empty, flashing, and solid smiley feature. i love to double confirm with a different brand so i don't second guess myself or stress over if I read something right or not.
